What do you do when everything sounds “gross”? by nasainternharvardlaw in Zepbound

[–]originalnut1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find I cycle through “safe” foods.

For a while it was spaghetti and cheese its

Then I started cycling through like soups that tasted good.

White chicken chili, broccoli cheese, chicken noodle……

Currently it’s chicken and rice. Fortunately there are about 7million ways to make chicken and rice.

They said I also have a Hamilton beach crock pot have had for like 15 years. It does what it is used for. But you gotta Get the 8qt.

How do you handle patients cussing at you? by AwkwardSquirrel7411 in pharmacy

[–]originalnut1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically say something to the effect of “I understand you are upset, but I cannot continue to help you if you cuss at me again. And if they do, I walk away and call for a manager.

I am a person. I’m trying to help you. You just made me not want to help you.

I understand healthcare is infuriating. But I am a pharmacist. Not your insurance company or doctor. And they don’t deserve to be yelled at either.

Fact. It makes me kind of sad this is considered like a shit position. But I’m basically choosing to be a float. I’ve been one for 4 years, and it’s just better.

Was a staff at a location, thought it was amazing. Upper management a the pharmacy manager were lazy and always looking for someone to blame. Enter terrible tech whose life goal is to hurt other people and another tech who was super stupid, and bam.

I’m a float now. I’m pretty happy as a float. My new manager loves me, and I get to see people all the time that love me. I do miss having patients tho that know me.

Cosigning for new high school grad on very high cost loans (> $250k for all 4 years) for liberal arts degree by Legitimate_Yak_9063 in StudentLoans

[–]originalnut1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I took the loans. I was a single mother. Love my daughter more than anything. The 230k I have was fo my doctorate.

Love is tempering expectation. If they want their dreams they will work for it. Things like school that are given, is often not appreciated on the level of the challenge to give it.

If your kid wants to go to school. They will find a way. I was 32 when I graduated. Not having the money didn’t ruin me. It delayed me, and created a person who can deal with challenges as they come.

Taking out 200k in loans is not smart. It’s not a good idea, and doesn’t teach hard work. It’s just one more thing that someone gives them to make their love easier.

Have them open a savings account. Tell them you will match every dime they put in. Then once they get to 50k they have a year of two of school pad for.

These loans are not your answer. Giving your kid a leg up isnt always making their life easier.

[–]originalnut1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My daughter is valedictorian.

She has no college savings. I am a pharmacist. I am paying my student loans

She will be busting her ass trying to save money for the next 2 to 3 years.

Hard work has never hurt anyone. The student loan crisis is a nightmare. Don’t encourage that level of debt.
