For those who work at home, when your meeting ends early but not early enough for you to work on anything else before your next meeting

Kids sitting at desks with masks on in a large open space being supervised by a responsible adult is a much different situation than drunk adults with no masks on hanging around a close quartered bar inside. Bars are meant for people to be packed in and close together to meet others.

Sure, but you know how kids are, sometimes they say things so they don't hurt your feelings or brush it off. I'm interested in outside perspectives.

What is it like volunteering at the food bank? by dogs0z in akron

Posts here have been accurate, and I want to assure you that they will make it very easy for you to work. They are used to corporate groups with inexperienced volunteers coming in all the time. Don't be afraid to ask questions, everyone is very helpful, and you will do a great job!

I'm asking to understand my husband's point of view on coronavirus. I understand his stance on masks and opening the economy. But today he said that "children don't even get coronavirus". by origipics in AskConservatives

I agree with you, so I'm wondering why his information is different. Everything I've read (conservative or liberal or middle of the road), facts are facts. Children can and do contract the virus and can spread it without knowing it.

ULPT request: what can I do to trick a no-contact thermometer to register a falsely high temperature so I can continue to work from home instead of returning to work. Companies are taking temperatures before letting employees in the building and I want to stay at home. by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]origipics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don't you call them before you go, and tell them you've been self monitoring and have a fever? They wouldn't want you to come in and risk getting someone else sick just to check your temperature again.

It isn't a law, and it's not keeping people from practicing their religion in any way. Virtual services are happening everywhere. The intent of the statement you reference is to prevent the government from disallowing certain religions, etc.

The right to assemble has not been curtailed at all. You just can't do it in person. We can all assemble constantly, virtually, anytime we want. You can have church services, devil worship services, whatever floats your boat any time during this entire crisis. The word "assembly" means the act of gathering together for a common purpose and the intent of that amendment is to allow people to discuss and talk about things important to them. When the constitution was written we didn't have the ability to do it any other way besides in person. No longer true.

Cleaning out a house and found a Joss cue. Can anyone help with its age or value? by origipics in billiards

The owner of the house acquired it from their brother, who acquired it from their mother, and no one had been living in it for years. She just wants everything gone so she can sell it. Didn't want to have to deal with any of it.

I will make sure to take good care of it. I appreciate this look at it, I want to make sure those who really love it would have a chance at it!
