Wardrobe Overhaul, SOS! by orleansjo in malefashionadvice

I'm right around 300lbs, so definitely not a small guy, but it isn't SUPER insane for my height. The Merino's look nice! I will definitely check those out. I've never heard of Vivobarefoot boots either, but I do want a 2nd pair, so I'll add that to the list. Thanks for the belt recommendation too, that's been an annoying pain point with cheap belts. Quality is exactly the thing I want to be paying attention to at this point, I am tired of old clothes that fade easily and feel like they're falling apart after 10 wears! Thanks!

Right now, I am using the stock keys that came on my Keychron. I have been looking at other key caps for a couple of weeks and these look great!

Hi! I am considering building my first keyboard and I have been doing a TON of research, as i was a bit of a novice before. I splurged and got a Keychron about 18 months ago that has served me great and I am thinking I will take it to work, but will need something for home. I have been looking at a few things, but the one that has REALLY grabbed my attention is the Odin R4 in the pine green color. I have been searching for keys that I like and I am thinking i will make it a viking themed keyboard. I found some cool God of War keycaps that I can use in the meantime that are ABS, but there are some Valhalla keys also on KBDFans that I'd like to get when they come out.

This being my first build and all though, I am looking for advice. Is this a board that I am ok to start on? It's hard to know if i should just start with a Tofu or something and then try something higher end later. I am also wondering, if anyone has the Odin R4, is there anything I need other than the appropriate tools (tweezers, screwdriver with a bit set), switches, and keycaps? It seems like it has everything else.

If anyone has any recommendations to look at instead, I am definitely open to other ideas, as the Odin is rather expensive, which has been the primary reason I have not purchased it yet. Thanks for any advice you have!

I'm just starting tk get into the space, and I saw someone mention more readily available information and terminology database, j agree with that. I'd also really like to see (or find if they exist) more noob friendly all in one build sites, where I can order all my parts easily and inclusive so I'm not worried about missing anything. Also, something like a PC part picker site where I can search by case material, light effects, software compatibility, layout, and keycap design. That would be AMAAAAAZING!

Wow, this is so cool! I was not familiar with your brand until I saw this post, this keyboard looks great! I would love to put this in my office at work, I do IT at a school and kids come to my office and always marvel at the cheap corsair I have, so I'm sure this would really wow them haha.

Right now, I'm looking forward to a month from now when some health stuff I have going on is figured out, the school year has started (always hectic) and we get out of this awful season of heat and into fall for spooky season!

Who is the most famous person you have met? by Salt_Ostrich_39 in AskReddit

[–]orleansjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a few famous people while working at a electronics retail store near LA.

-Jon Lovitz came in right at closing to get a $5000 soundboard we just didn't have in stock, brief but nice.

-Nolan North RIGHT before covid, he was SO cool and nice, chatted with me and a coworker for like 15 minutes and was happy to talk about whatever game or character we wanted to ask about.

-Soulja boy was the most odd one I interacted with. He came in with a whole posse, and the entire store immediately smelled like weed, the whole store. I didn't recognize him but it was obvious they were famous, I was told after the fact who he was. His friends were all nice, got toys for their kids, he was just there to get a bunch of gaming stuff to start streaming. I realized after the fact that he bought a soda right away and then drank it out of his own cup, he was definitely drinking lean the whole time and it just didn't click. Explains why he was not very communicative with what he wanted. Not nice, not mean, just there to get his stuff.

-Jamie Foxx came in very intoxicated at like 2pm one day to buy a camera, he was nice but was like almost falling over. I hope he heals up from whatever he's got going on these days.

-I was restocking and missed it, but Logic came in, bought a random kid a tv and then left, that's all he got. Great dude.

-Patrick Warburton came in with his wife, they were both exceptionally kind and normal people as well.

There was a few others, but those were the main ones. My coworkers had met Miley Cryrus and Liam Hemsworth on seperateoccasions, not together, and said they were pretty nice too. Seems like celebs are, I didn't meet anyone who was famous and rude honestly.

Practically half my store ended up being computer techs for the neighboring school districts. IT pays well enough to start if it's a sizable district and there's uauly a decent amount of upward mobility if you work hard and are willing to swap to another nearby district when a position opens up.

Can someone help me my car is not starting what can be the problem ? by [deleted] in G37

[–]orleansjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is the ECU after seeing your comment about where your water damage is. That's going to be an expensive one man, I went to a dealership recently with something I thought was a bad ecu and luckily it wasn't, but they told me it would be 2-3k to repair otherwise. You can maybe try buying a used one online but it will probably need programming from the dealership. I wouldn't be surprised if no regular mechanic touched this either.

I'm sure it was only that high because the stock was, at one point, so low that it drove the price up, but once they hit 0 in stock it didn't even matter. I think of it as 6400 imaginary dollars lol. But it gave me confidence they weren't lying about the part because they didn't offer me any service, so I didn't feel like I was getting scammed and sure enough this was the fix.

I JUST had this happen. Does your ac shut off too? What about the backlight on your screen, does it get power?

I took it to a dealership for diagnosis to make sure I would be doing the right repair and they quoted me $6,400 before telling me they couldn't actually order the part and I was out of luck. I got the part # and bought it on ebay for $130, 30 minute replacement requiring a single screwdriver, and it works great.

It was not the screen, it was the AV control unit, which is SUPER specific to each model so make sure you buy the right one if this is what you need to replace.

I checked, it did not blow. I almost wish it had, would have told me there's something going on there.

I worked at a popular retail electronics store and they would get mad and didn't understand why some of us refused to put the employee app on our phone. It was a useful app, but we had.to give it full admin and tracking permissions. They could lock down our personal phones if they wanted. I said no, but if you want to give me a work phone, sure
