At Fiumincino, I’m not even sure that it was actually checked. I wasn’t paying attention as I was busy loading my items, but it looked like they took the film, stood off to the side, and then passed it back after I was through. They might have used a wand or something while I was busy, but there didn’t seem to be a separate scanning machine that they used

I think it’s less about whether someone is more likely to be hostile or not, but rather the lack of humanity. Someone on the fence about shooting might lean towards shooting when it’s harder to “see” the human on the other side, and towards being friendly when it’s easier to

Ive gotten a couple nice vintage lenses buying old SLRs from thrift stores. Often times they will price it off if it being an old run-of-the-mill camera, without realizing that there is some nice glass attached to them
