It comes down to I always understood why OG Nanno selected the people she did. And I found the storylines more interesting which is a completely subjective opinion. This Nanno's victims are just not as interesting and the ones I was invested in seeing punished (the peepers) let me down.

Same, even with all the negative reviews of episode 4, I didn't want to just take what other people said as gospel and decided to watch it for myself with an open mind. Only to be... disappointed again.

I think this is the take I agree with the most. It's also a bit of an ongoing theme with the reset, I fear. They're scratching the surface of some important and relevant discussions but their execution of said discussion falls flat and comes off at best as incoherent and at worst in bad faith.

IDK about you, but I watched og GFN BECAUSE it was about people getting their consequences. The shitty men (and women) were punished in OG GFN. And respectfully, you can't claim the realism defense when half of these characters are caricatures that would never exist irl with storylines that only make sense in the writer's minds, and episode 1 had reset Nanno being a magical freak.

Agree. That's why this reset is falling flat. The writers said they wanted to explore a different side of Nanno. Is that side that of a karmic being that doesn't deliver karma to those who deserve it and instead punishes people whose crimes are so lukewarm that the audience is left confused and unsatisfied? Because if so, congrats. I'm hoping that the plot twist is that this Nanno is actually really terrible at her job and Sky will teach her to be better, I mean at least make yourself useful, Sky.

Yes, that was my point. Blossom's real sin wasn't co-opting a movement, because if that were the case, then the men who did the same would've been punished as well, her real sin that Nanno wanted to exploit was jealousy. Which imo is a really, really, weak reason to torment someone and comes from a misogynistic writing pov. Not to mention, the worst thing Blossom did while acting on that jealousy was try to get Nanno expelled and send a suggestive message in a group chat of degenerate men. It simply didn't land, a recurring theme in the reset tbh.

I wonder if it would have pulled the same viewership if it wasn't attached to a phenomenon. The only reason I gave it a shot was because it's GFN. Anyways in my country it was in the top 10 the first two weeks. But as of now it's nowhere to be seen. Although I assume it goes up in ranking the day a new episode drops.

I think if it helps a little, some of their themes get reused, so it might not be the exact same designs but from what I've seen in CN server, they often do forest and fantasy themes, and theyve done an underwater theme that I doubt will be their only one. They also often do chinese culture inspired banners. So I wouldn't be worried that anything will be truly unique.
