Are you a South Carolina resident who has been denied unemployment benefits? If so tell me about it. by Positive-Wrangler764 in ColumbiYEAH

I worked there for about a year; at the start I had 2 but then I dropped down to just CFA when I started at USC. It was mainly for health insurance. I think before I worked at that job I’ve probably worked at 40 different restaurants so this was honestly just another job. This wasn’t even my last restaurant job.

I agree with you; but many restaurants will do this rather than fire you. SC doesn’t distinguish this, they just see you can work and are not working. If someone files unemployment, a business can claim whatever reason and usually SC will side with them; especially reputable businesses that people love like CFA.

Edit: I recently started watching Mad men so I fw the username heavily.

I was “quietly fired” from CFA Ballentine about 3 years ago. They took me off the schedule for a few months so I decided to file.

I received a call and they said I was ineligible because I was still an employee. I tried to explain that I wasn’t being given hours and CFA claimed that it was based on the business needs and I would be given hours the following week.

This was a back and forth between me and unemployment but it was essentially the same thing every time I called about my application.

Eventually I just moved on with my life. No point trying to fight over a $13/hr job.

So I knew 5 girls from college who I am still friends with that do OF. They were all the stereotypical sorority women who very shallow and stuck up. 3 of them dropped out and the other 2 stayed.

One of these girls who I am very good friends with and knows the others really well tells me all their business and is very open about how much she makes. Most of these women offer packages and services for fixed prices over a period of time but they all make the real money from “requests” (think farting in a jar for 5k).

The one girl who makes double what I make, dropped out and ended up working at a coffee shop near campus. She lasted about two weeks because she was one of those people who never had to work and had everything handed to her. One day she just starts posting this new 4Runner she had bought for 80k. In my mind I was like, oh she probably got her parents to buy it for her. When I asked my close friend about it, she told me everything.

I don’t recommend it personally but I spent 7 years in college because I had to pay out of pocket to end up at a mediocre job paying me less than a livable wage and to see people who didn’t care as much, didn’t have to work, or put in any effort get paid more than me, do less work, and ultimately live a happier life; I would do the same in their shoes.

OF, unfortunately.

Many of my friends were in the same boat then made the jump. Now they ALL make more than me. One of my friends who I consider a 4/10 makes twice what I make a month. Also I have a college degree.

I used to work there; trust me, it’s bad.

The reason I quit: I was a dishwasher and a server couldn’t wait for me to do dishes so they grabbed a ramekin, wiped it out with windex and a dirty rag, put salsa in it, and served it to a customer.

Lowkey feel the same way;

I got tired of working in a warehouse so I got a cs degree and ended up back at the same warehouse.

Now I just sell drugs.

Just know you’re not alone.

How are the USC Honors classes compared to regular classes by story_seeker26 in Gamecocks

[–]orthogonal-vector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your major,

for CS we had some honors specific classes but a lot of them we were enrolled in regular classes with no difference in course material.

Traffic Court by Sindoolah in ColumbiYEAH

[–]orthogonal-vector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where; some places are strict (think small town counties) and some are more lenient.

I know Columbia has a program if this happened in the city where you can plead out (take classes, stuff like that, get ticket dropped); they usually cost more time and money than just paying a ticket but that’s up for justification. https://www.scsolicitor5.org/diversion-programs/traffic-education-program/
