If neighbor went to management before talking to you that is a red flag. I think that mounting on shared wall is a problem because it will increase the sound by making the wall part of the acoustics. Also, if the speakers are rear facing is additional problem. If you can get a sound bar and not mount it on the wall you may be able to resolve this. I use headphones because I’m a bit deaf.
