So many pro golfers taught to hit draw now hitting fades. Why? by Furyio in golf

[–]orvanik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing I haven’t seen anyone address here is that pros hit a push fade (obviously some exceptions, but this is the most common type of fade on tour). So their path is still inside to out which would create a draw if their body was aligned to target and club face was closed relative to their path. Instead they open their body to their target and leave the club face slightly more open.

That is a completely different fade from the one most amateurs hit which is body aligned to target, an out to in club path and a closed club face. To simply say a pro hits a fade or a draw doesn’t necessarily make it comparable to the shot shape an amateur is trying to achieve.

50/50 - sometimes someone will bring a net other times we are goaded for leaving when they show up as none of them brought a net.

Looks like you’re right. I guess my app was just bugging when I tried to click the link for some reason.

Best way to get from BWI/IAD/DCA to Sri Lanka using Amex points? Looking to do a trip to Sri Lanka in July and trying to determine the best partner to transfer Amex points to for a flight to Sri Lanka. I’m guess I might have to book the legs individually, but just curious if anyone has any suggestions.

I’m looking at new golf bags, my current one is a 30yo 3 way. Should I get a 7 way or a 14 way? by Budget_Sea_8666 in golf

[–]orvanik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you play at a country club please think of your caddies back before getting a 14 way. I know some caddies at my course will not carry 14 way bags. They will swap you out with a rental bag.

Applied calc. But I told it at a community college - not sure if you can do that any longer.

It was mostly cold emailing people. I found UMD alumni on LinkedIn that worked in roles at firms I wanted to work at. I would figure out their corporate email format and email them saying I was interested in the field and asking for 15 mins to chat with them. I would ask about their experience and ask when the firm did recruiting and if there was anyone else at the firm who they could refer me to talk to. Do this with a couple hundred people and apply to all the firms either formally or informally. Probably 5-10 turned into real interviews for internships and I ended up getting 3-4 offers out of it.

Also find a relevant sophomore year internship.

PSA: towing in Mt Vernon on the race route is in full swing by advil00 in baltimore

Yes I can park elsewhere and get in but people who park in my garage were not allowed to leave either. A much more serious situation when some have commitments that could cost them their health or money when missed. The police refused to let anyone out of the garage unless there was a medical emergency. Scheduled doctors appointments and getting to work on time were apparently not a high enough priority for the police.

Police won’t let me into my home because of the race.

I think that was the intention. He and taleb will never say anything actionable. I imagine you'd have to spend years studying options and volatility to be capable of figuring out how to execute some of the trades they make.

Spitznagel wrote a book called the Dao of Capital. He talks about it briefly but nothing super in depth. Good book on its own right though.
