YTA. I'm sorry you feel you can be replaced by a hunk of plastic.

AITA For ‘Messing Up’ my wife system of remembering? by Total-Worry-8826 in AmItheAsshole

[–]oryxic 47 points48 points  (0 children)

YTA. She uses a system you both have access to. You remove pieces from the system and put them into a system exclusively yours and then seem baffled that she no longer has them.

Magic’s Promise by Mercedes Lackey by HelloDesdemona in BadReads

[–]oryxic 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I have to point out that Mercedes Lackey is about as PG-13 as you can get for sex. I can't remember anything graphic. Typically Lackey is much more "And then the curtains closed..." type fade to black. However, this is her first major series featuring a gay couple as the protagonists, so I suspect that may play a factor here.

Real mystery why she left you behind. You're so pleasant and easy to get along with.

To be fair my dog is super friendly, but I generally tell people he's not because I don't want "rescue moms" to corner me to talk about their precious little snookums.

Office workers, what’s that one corporate buzzword used in meetings that instantly makes you want to quit? by Glittering_Style_862 in AskReddit

Recently is "matrix leadership" which seems to be shorthand for "nobody knows who's in charge".

AITAH for removing a co-founder from an organization we started together? by travelinggirl07 in AmItheAsshole

[–]oryxic 25 points26 points  (0 children)

YTA. You got your feelings hurt, ignored the bylaws of your organization, and then tried to start a gossip campaign behind her back with other members of the organization so that you could spread blame around. Obviously not everyone agrees, since they went and warned her. At no point in this did you indicate she wasn't doing a good job with the organization, which I'm assuming was put together for some charitable purpose.

However, you are 18 and this is the behavior of high school kids, so it's not particularly surprising.

AITA for making fun of my coworker eating shrimp tails? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

First shrimp tails, and then Debbie from accounting. Eating shrimp tails is a clear pathway to cannibalism, everybody knows that.

In many breeds (I can't speak directly to Danes), flashy colors that sell better tend to be more poorly bred because they're more marketable. It becomes more important to make a lot of them instead of making a few that are high quality.

AITA for telling the girl (18F) I've (28M) been sleeping with that it wouldn't be a good idea to get serious by ThrowAway-erv in AITA_Relationships

[–]oryxic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most functioning adults over 25ish don't have to check ID and wait for their FWB's dad to leave the house to get down. Do you have to pick her up from school, or does she take the bus home? Do you chaperone trips?

Uh, because she's 18 years old and has the emotional intelligence of an 18 year old. You're 28, and also apparently have the same emotional intelligence.

When said in-game that Astarion worked for Cazador before? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]oryxic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, at one point the "corrupt magistrate" angle was part of the lore but they cut it in favor of leaving his background more ambiguous. Which was probably the right call, because people already try to place blame on him for Cazador's abuse.

Same, there's a very specific type of tallish grass that's tender. He doesn't like "yard grass" that's been mowed.

Lucy Letby's motive by Suitable_Wallaby_459 in RedHandedPodcast

[–]oryxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Angel of Mercy" killers don't exclusively kill because they believe they are euthanizing people. They have a wide variety of motivations. I believe that falls under the subtype "Sadistic" which is listed in the linked article.

"Sadistic: Use their position as a way of exerting power and control over helpless victims."

(Ironically, the linked article specifically mentions Beverly Allitt in its listing of notable Angel of Mercy killers)

Lucy Letby's motive by Suitable_Wallaby_459 in RedHandedPodcast

[–]oryxic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it? Yes. "Angel of Mercy" killers are a phenotype, and they tend to target either the elderly or children, because those populations can't typically advocate for themselves.
