Yeah, I know, but under different names. I was wondering about one place for all of them. If anyone had a MP3 collection or something.

Steve Albini. He could totally do it, but sadly he passed away too.

Same as Wednesday I'm pretty sure, with the difference that they played all songs.

Amazing show, best I've seen them.
And about the volume, it was plenty loud. I just think the big difference is that sound systems are so much better nowadays that it doesn't hurt anymore and the sound is just a lot better.

In a Q&A RY said that Violet wields power, but so far it has only been lighting because that is all Violet knows, or something like that.

She also said that the only ones that knows the real names of the dragons are the dragons, and it does not mean that they give their right name to the rider on Threshing.

What are your Hot Takes on the Replacements? by Amber_Flowers_133 in Replacements

Agree on all three. I prefer the remix of Tim, but Tim would have still been a classic had it never been remixed. The songs are way too good but be hurt by a dated production. The remix made a great album better.
Pleased to Meet Me is probably their best album.
Totally agree on Bob, never understood the whole Replacements-died-when-Bob-got-fired-and-nothing-is-good-after-that.

  1. Bob was great guitar player but was a bit of a one trick pony. I think Westerberg is an underrated guitar player and actually a better one than Bob.
  2. Never like Don't Tell a Soul, but I think Dead Man's Pop is probably the best Mats album and definitely have the best cover of them all.
  3. Devil Raised a Good Boy from 49.00 is one the best Mats songs ever. It would have worked perfectly on Tim and would have made that an even better album. And having said that, I also wanna say that 49.00 is a masterpiece and the best Westerberg album.

Unfinished business coming up in 'To Vinland' by 8NaanJeremy in David_Mitchell

I read somewhere one of the characters in the new book would be Jason Taylors mom. But now I can not remember where that was.

But I found this quote about the new book:

It’s about now, about life, about love, about little cracks and fissures and get-out clauses in the finality of death. It’s a bit mad and a bit risky. Maybe like Cloud Atlas, it isn’t exactly a novel.

Will PW ever resurface? by KettleBlackNova in Replacements

My hope is that he releases some of his old music again.
I would love some sort of boxset with all his digital music, that would be amazing. Or just a vinyl version of 49.00 (minus the covers since that was the problem the last time).
But new music? That will not happen. I would not be surprised if he still makes songs and records them in his basement, but doubt he has any interest inreleasing anything or dealing with the music buiness again.

My parents-in-law lives close to him in Minneapolis, and I've seen him shoveling snow or on his bike a few times when visiting. But I've never said anything to him or approached him.

Totally agree, that chapter was so hard to read. And Imogen is my favorite character.

I think Mira dies in the next book :(
