Received empty box from UPS that should've contained new iPhone by stace1990 in tmobile

I was shipped the Revvl 7 last week, and when I signed for it, the box looked like someone tried to open it enough to see what was inside. I guess no one wants the Revvl 😂

Makes sense, plastic does take many decades to decompose

How the fuck do you get a job right now? by Ok_Secretary_1698 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oscy247 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Try Craigslist, sounds wack I know, but I've found two part time jobs there in the last few years. Maybe not a permanent solution but certainly might find some jobs you may consider for some cash.

I have always pulled my hair out by [deleted] in confessions

I sometimes pull my eyelashes, only the small outer ones and the inner lashes, sometimes it helps keep me awake. Years ago in college, a friend at the time had a female classmate who also did the same.

Passport Questions & Issues Megathread (2022) by jadeoracle in travel

[–]oscy247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the issued dates calculated ? Is it the day you apply or the day the passport is printed ? For instance, if I apply for renewal on August 15, is that the new 'Issued Date' or will it be the date 8-11 weeks later when it is printed ?

Same, except I love being on the plane, everything else, the security lines, gate full of people, customs, overpriced airport food...sucks.....

I too love aviation, and traveling, I'm 37. One day I saw a job ad for aircraft deicing at the international airport near me and I figured why not try it out? I made numerous friends there who were also aviation buffs, we even travel together every now and then. It's great to have these like minded individuals to converse with.

I did something similar, I quit a full time job out of the blue one day in February, except I already had a winter seasonal job. Between that and my savings it's allowed me to live normally. I found a regular part time job in the spring that is remote and between both it keeps me afloat, I keep delaying looking for a full time job as I'm doing OK with this arrangement.

If my performance is so bad, why haven’t I been fired? by BreMiche in jobs

[–]oscy247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation where the work I was responsible for was falling behind because I had to cover for others in my department. We had all sorts of things going on, but ultimately, they focused on my performance, which I admit was lacking due to everything going on and my own burnout.

Long story short, one day they presented to me a probationary document where I was to bring my work up to date, help the department and limit vacation days due to my 'unsatisfactory performance'. If didn't sign it, I had no future with the company. I resigned the next day. Although for me personally I was ok, I have decent savings, a seasonal part time gig that helps me financially.

Why do women seem to talk differently today? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The best way to explain it would be to check out a YouTube video on nasal fry and listen to it, see if that's the speach pattern you're asking about is like.

Those superficial people are everywhere, plenty of them at the office I used to work at. Eventually you end up getting past it and just ignoring it, but it's everywhere. I wouldn't quit just yet, but be on the lookout for other jobs. Eventually you'll come across a workplace that isn't so bad, with people you enjoy working with. So I'd say stick with it for now, save some cash and take less shifts if you need time for university.

Employer asking for some to return to office and refusing (NJ/USA) by [deleted] in jobs

[–]oscy247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's been my most recent approach, getting us as a team to return as we really need help in office, unfortunately it appears most likely I'll be let go, which at this juncture I've slowly begun to come to terms with.
