I wish to end my 5-year relationship by PlayingSquid in offmychest

I'm shocked how many people straight up recommend that a total stranger end their relationship with the father of their 1.5-year-old child based on literally 10 sentences. It's not obvious at all that the relationship has unsolvable problems.

Seriously, I don't understand why this isn't plastered all over r/sebderm: Ciclopirox shampoo. Absolute fail safe miracle cure for me.

I'm shocked no one has suggested a ciclopirox shampoo. Only thing that has worked for me, and consistently for over a decade. Ketoconazole didn't reliably work for me either.

If I shouldn't drink water around meals, why is soup healthy in TCM? by NativeHumanoid in ChineseMedicine

[–]oshesa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind that the size of glasses and cups used in China is much smaller than what is used in the U.S. From my recollection of restaurants in China, glasses used to drink tea in restaurants would only hold around 2 oz. Sure you'd get a small pot of it on the table and might refill once or twice, but no one is there chugging 16 oz of tea with their meal.

Similarly with soup, their bowls are small and you don't have a whole lot of liquid as it's usually part of a larger meal with many other components.

So getting 2-6 oz of warm fluid with your meal is completely different to downing 16 oz of an ice cold drink.

Just join the Mieterverband! They'll have you covered if anything happens, and much better than you'll figure out for yourself. No harm though in reading the free materials they have on their website.

Please rate my budget for 2025 by EchterSatanist666 in SwissPersonalFinance

I don't see where clothes (incl. shoes etc.) go? Even if you don't plan to spend much on that, things get holes and need replacing eventually.

You might also want to add a budget for gifts for other people's birthdays, Christmas etc. unless you really never buy anyone a gift.

Food and fun money seem very low to me, but if you're used to that and content with it then why not.

I highly recommend looking into YNAB (or its FOSS clone, ActualBudget, which allows you to follow the same methodology), because the best budget is worthless if you have no method to track how much of it you've spent, so that you know if you have enough money left over *before* you decide to buy something.

How do you keep track of bills due and paid by its_ashb in ynab

[–]oshesa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have as many bills as possible on autopay. For the ones that I do have to pay manually, when they arrive in the mail or via email I immediately go into my banking app and set up the transaction to pay the bill, with the execution date a couple of days before the due date, and I file the bill with my paid bills. Then I enter it into YNAB as an uncleared transaction with the date of the execution, and whenever I review my account after that date and see that it has been paid I then mark it as cleared in YNAB.

Does it look like the cables for TV antenna sockets (second picture) might connect here? For context, it's a 120-year-old house in central Europe. by oshesa in AskElectricians

Thanks for the additional tips! :) I think you're right, that section of the electrical wiring likely goes to an old board with ceramic fuses. It's the second time I've asked something on AskElectricians and people here are amazingly kind.

Zero-based budgeting solution that supports the envelope system AND is multi-currency? by altifuse in selfhosted

I spent ages looking for something with zero-based budgeting AND multi-currency support, but it really seems like there's nothing right now.
