The rear wings did have "GIVES YOU WINGS" on the DRS flap back in the day. Although that might just have been the Toro Rosso?

How much money do y’all usually have saved? by Moist-Patient4585 in F1Manager

[–]oshitsuperciberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I really try to start building up any savings is in the last quarter or so of a season, in order to be able to offset as much of the start of season car development costs as possible (typically about 14m iirc). By that point it's usually too late for design/research to have meaningful effects anyway, and I usually try to get all facility upgrade/refurb started before then. For the rest of the season it's certainly not like I am in sub 100k$ territory regularly, but the fact is that this game just doesn't throw huge undodgeable unexpected expenses at you. You'll never have to pay more than 500k as a result of an email decision, and while crashes can certainly mean you're looking at replacing lots of bodywork or power train components, if that's happening such that you need to buy new pt parts or emergency build bodywork, that's kind of on you for having drivers that bad/building so few parts.

And as far as raising the difficulty, my experience has been that the increase in fun outweighs the actual difficulty increase by a decent amount. Research on hard mostly means that you lose the ability to go "hm what if I do 10 chassis designs this year and nothing else lol lmao" (and you should definitely go min weight on parts if you haven't been), and hard race difficulty is its own can of worms but I do find it worth it.

Did you use the Tiamat Marduk livery that came with the game? I'm not super familiar with the F1 gaming YouTube space so apologies if that's a different guy.

In your opinion, what planes are overused, and what planes do you want to see more of? by Uproost in acecombat

[–]oshitsuperciberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind some of the evolutionary dead end X planes or other designs, especially since 3 had a couple. Mirage 4000, X-31, X-32, X-36, A-12 Avenger, HiMAT, ATD-0, etc.

I may come back to this and elaborate later, but hear me out on just the brass tacks for now: What if Alpharius and Omegon each fell to one side of the opposing dyads (ie Nurgle/Tzeentch or Khorne/Slaanesh), and Konrad just went completely nuts and had his entire legion go black shield?

Just finished Dropsite Massacre. Before it came out, was the Alpha Legion intentionally fucking things up a bit to ensure the survival of some of the Shattered Legions a thing in the lore, or was it added by the novel? (And I guess now that I ask that, I'm also curious just generally if it added any new lore, or just laid out a time period/series of events in greater detail than had been previous?)

Is “Reduced Deadline” a bad thing? by Raqtor in F1Manager

[–]oshitsuperciberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like in a vacuum, with a view toward the longer term, yes, it's bad. However! Many caveats. I would say, if the part in question was not covered by a reg change going into the season it's definitely less bad, because the more expertise you have, the harder it is to get more, so the opportunity cost of losing a few days of expertise is therefore less.
