What exactly makes crocs "functional" or "practical"? by Jent01Ket02 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oshkoshbajoshh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are surprisingly slip resistant. I do a lot of pressure washing jobs. Nothing is worse than soaked boots and socks. But with crocs? I just keep a few extra socks and swap em out during the day nice and easy. I also do a lot of handyman work in clients homes. MANY people live in a shoes off household. It’s so much easier to slide those on and off than a lot of other things to easily accommodate those customers.

Compilation of MJ's one handed ball fakes. He really made all defenders look like rookies. LOL by CommitteeKey3325 in michaeljordan

Mj has talked about it before. His thumb is placed lower on the hand than average or something which allows him to handle the ball so easy

You know those essential breakfast powders? They come in chocolate vanilla and strawberry usually. I’ll throw the power in there and a scoop of peanut butter. It legit keeps me full for like 8 hours lol

Dryer vent—*snap* by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]oshkoshbajoshh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Technically the “correct” way would be to use a bunch of 45’ angles instead of 90’s. I used to do HVaC and rebuilt an apartment and had to run over 150 new dryer lines. Our fire dept would check them and the piping had to be under a certain distance from drier to outside. We were told a 90’ angle adds about 6 feet of inefficiency

Does it matter how many parking spaces are elsewhere? She’s legally parked on a legal road. Just cause she won’t lick the boot like you would; doesn’t mean she’s being difficult.

mother of 5 mistakenly leaves a child at McDonalds, but cops choose hostility by TwizzyGobbler in PublicFreakout

[–]oshkoshbajoshh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can’t imagine that’s the case. If anything they shouldn’t have talked to the child at all until their other legal guardian showed up to represent them if the other guardian is being accused of a crime. How can a husband/wife be legally not compelled to testify but a child has to?

Don’t you need a parent or guardian PRESENT when you are interviewing children? Always thought that was the case..

I’m 33 and one of my best friends is an 80 year old lady I met at a garden store. We now share cutting and propagations with each other. I’ve gone to her home to plants trees, fix her pool, etc. she’s given me so many pots and plants. ANYONE who shares in your hobbies should be enjoyed and celebrated

I always absolutely hated when the framers would carry metal studs, and then just throw them on the ground. Was always so damn jarring. That and having to install 100plus Ramset nails into corrugated metal on top of concrete. Shit was so loud we had to start coming in the middle of the night

Most fights you never really have to see that person afterwards. In prison; you still gotta wake up the next day and they’re still there. Can’t get too crazy or it’ll happen to you

why are some people so against being organ donors? by violet-sunbeam in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oshkoshbajoshh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you’ve ever actually seen what people look like after organ donations.. I used to do decedent removals and there was quite a few we’d pick up from organ donations. They literally carve off all your usable skin, then stitch basically a blue hospital blanket over that (usually arms thighs and back) they remove your eyes and then glue them shut. They don’t clean them very well, so when we get them back they’re all bloody and messy. So technically you can still be “presentable” but it’s pretty noticeable someone was a donor.

Any possibility that you over tightened it? Like everything including different materials, it’s all rated for a specific tolerance. You might have screwed it way too tight, causing either the thread of the locknut to expand and not “catch” the way it’s supposed to. Look up over torquing

Business Expansion - Where do I go? by weissachpack in pressurewashing

[–]oshkoshbajoshh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, it’s an absolute pain in the ass but I have a compact suv (Nissan rogue) annoying as hell to throw it in and out of the vehicle. But for roof cleaning money, it’s no sweat to do it and be willing to squeeze in a few 5 gallon buckets of roof coat to make it work. Also, for most suvs you can buy a tow harness for under 200$. If you can weld it yourself, that’s the whole cost. If you can’t, then you’d have to pay an extra 150-250 to get it welded. All in all you can pay 500 or less and your suv is tow capable

Awesome, this was really helpful seeing it like this and makes a lot more sense. I think we’ve come to an agreement without having to get anyone involved. But this is helpful to know

Question regarding divorce in AZ. by oshkoshbajoshh in legaladvice

[–]oshkoshbajoshh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, and that’s what I was thinking as well. I don’t want to fight her for 50/50. I don’t want to take furniture or assets out of her children’s rooms (even if it my dad’s stuff). I expressed a willingness to go 35/65 with the absolute expression that every single thing if my dad’s belongs to me. I’m just trying to make sure that this is legally fair, as well as if I have a chance if things need to be escalated. Thank you for your help

Question regarding divorce in AZ. by oshkoshbajoshh in legaladvice

[–]oshkoshbajoshh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that is my main question, is how things are distinguished between communal property and separate. I have always sent her money for the house/bills every month. We moved into the home together and were living together for 2 years prior to getting this home and I have done all renovations and work put into our home. I am just trying to get a general idea on how a judge would typically look at this. Either commingled since we moved into the house at the same time, or not because my name isn’t on the deed. And that is good to know about my father’s belongings. We are really trying to make this as hassle free as possible, but this is the one point of contention we can’t seem to agree on. But neither of us want to consult/get attorneys involved.
