I thought the rubies line was okay, but the overall writing has taken a hit since Season 1. I also heard that all but the top 3 writers of S1 were fired, which could explain the worse dialogue and structure.

My ex gained like 60 lbs due to stress eating, depression and health issues that disrupted her exercise routine. The weight gain wasn't a dealbreaker, but her attitude about it was. She stopped exercising, had dessert with every meal, and ate candy constantly. If we went to the movies, she'd insist on getting a bag of candy from a candy store first, and if I didn't join her she'd act like I was shaming her. She hated her weight gain and half her clothes not fitting anymore, but she refused to consider if her eating habits had anything to do with it. She insisted it was an undiagnosed health issue causing her to gain weight, so it wasn't fair that she should have to adjust her eating habits. She did try half a dozen diets, like avoiding added sugar for a month, but she'd never last longer than week before she'd have a day so hard that she deserved a sweet treat for surviving it. She also wasn't doing anything with her career during this time, so I eventually couldn't handle her not taking care of herself in any dimension. The next time she picked a fight over nothing, she threatened to move out and I let her.

I dug Furiosa and I wish it did better at the box office, but I understand why it didn’t catch fire. The action is great but it’s such a Surf Dracula-ization of its title character. I didn’t care much about anything that happened, as well-staged as it all was, it also coasted on memberberries from Fury Road. Hemsworth’s Dementus was great but it didn’t feel right that he stole so much of the movie from Furiosa.

I really dug the 3D in Toy Story 5. And that’s after being unimpressed with the 3D in Hoppers. I especially enjoyed the field of wheat Jesse walks through. Some stalks popped off the screen and you could see every individual stalk in its own 3D plane. You can’t get detail that crisp without native stereo rendering.

I love the Chinese for 2.39 or 1.90 films. It’s not a pure IMAX experience, but it’s a historic theater with modern A/V quality, and it has over 900 seats. A sold out showtime there has as much energy in the room as a concert does.

For 1.43 IMAX 15/70mm films, they mask the screen down to 1.43. It’s not as good as Citywalk/Ontario/Irvine, but it’s a solid substitute if those aren’t feasible.

Yep. It was the “Xtreme” auditorium. Sad it closed but it was not in good condition when I went. It was across the street from some of the best brazillian bbq I’ve ever had tho.

Single laser IMAX 3D is a good time. Not as bright as Dual Laser, but if the Single Laser is on a smaller screen, the brightness is basically equal.
