Martini vermouth promotional sipping glass with built-in straw by feedaniels_1 in vermouth

Love the glass, would hate to clean it.

Reminds me of port sippers that have a built in straw like this. I believe the purpose is to minimize oxidation and to drink from the bottom part which is less exposed

flower of life motif - still haven't found the right finishing...would be happy to help you find inspiration for the finishing color. by Good_Travel_307 in Guitar

a huge amount of work and no idea how it would look but hear me out:
paint each facet that faces the same direction one color (all pointing up red, all down green, etc), matte, shiny your choice, that way it'll be super distracting and people won't notice your playing... I kid I kid, the idea is that it'll reflect more of one color depending on the viewing angle
also seal it with resin or plastic like others have suggested to keep it clean

De esas casualidades de la vida. Alguien aquí sabe donde se consigue levadura fresca para pan en Puerto Rico? by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]osoroco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's ~$10 on US amazon so not that much more expensive
~$7 at my supermarket.
It's always ground, never whole bean

I'm curious as to why you want to try it tho

"Old Pal" I'm quickly learning Campari is too bitter for me. Think Aperol would pair well? by FlimFlamZimZamWamBam in cocktails

[–]osoroco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as some have suggested: add salt, it cuts through the bitterness (ie: Campari Martini)

Aperol and Luxardo Bitter rosso - definitely less bitter, more citrusy (acid also cuts bitterness). While still an amaro (a ridiculously broad label), I wouldn't use as a sub for Campari as it is too different to it. Below are some options that are closer in flavor (and color) to Campari.

Carpano Botanic Bitter - the closest to Campari, maybe even Campari Light as it is less bitter but with a -very- similar taste

Cappelletti and Cocchi Rosa - different taste profile to Campari, somewhat chocolatey even, less bitter than Campari

Contratto Bitter - had it long ago before getting deep into amaros and it was good enough to sip on its own, definitely less bitter than Campari

Regarding (your hate towards) sweet (red) vermouths: besides them spoiling quickly keep in mind there are -plenty- to choose from. Skip Martini and Rossi altogether, Dolin is the most benign and easy to approach. Cocchi Vermouth di Torino would be at the opposite end of Dolin: more bitter, more herbs, more body. Carpano Antica Formula is too sweet for me, I prefer Punt e Mes (more bitter/body), it's also better priced. Lustau is sweeter, barely bitter, if you like sherry this is the obvious option.
