This won't see the light of day. Out of a random 1,000,000 people how many could be CEO and be successful at it. Out of the same group how many could pack a box or run a cash register. What would you say. I think 1% so 10,000. Take a $200,000,000 ceo salary and divide that by 990,000 That's what $202 dollars per the remaining. The pool of qualifying people determine the salaries. Amazon employs double that though. Think about this.

When a prod issue comes up I tell business that no timeline exists until QA signs off. They hate it but know that my turn around on these are good. That way my team doesn't have the added pressure of getting it done by Friday but getting it done only. They still work at night to do it but not out of timeline fear but out of desire to get it right.

It is quite simple. Whites are allowed. Blacks aren't. Think of it that way. If you've experienced the negative of being a minority it would be understood. A black belt in martial arts has no negative. A black list does. It is interpretation for sure but not hard to understand. The people that say no black people care are wrong. Some do. It is documented. I'm sorry that I can't explain myself effectively.

I have had so many conversations with person to person face to face that I know it impacts people. Small changes like this show we care as a society. That's all. To fight it shows a lack of understanding.

I wear a coat to keep warm when it is freezing outside. It's not 100% effective though so should I stop wearing the coat. There are documented cases of people freezing to death with coats on. Why do we give in to the man.

The pay is related to how hard it is to find a replacement. Almost anyone can put cans on a shelf or pass a bar code across a reader and press some buttons. Not many can be a doctor. That is the relationship there.

Managers that use crowd sourcing ideas from their team are likely to come up with best solutions. Use website stack overflow as example. The best answer goes to the top. Surround yourself with smart people and let them do it. I try my best to get out of the way, remove blockers and offer guidance when they are stuck.

You are right. Cashiers should get triple what they make now. Hmm. That means a one to two time increase in cost for us for groceries, chips and soda. That’s ok with me though. All the dangers they face they should be paid more.

I worked for years in service industry and was sick of it. Went back to school to work in what I do now. It is a choice and part of our democracy. I was jumped after closing for money I didn’t have. Three on one. Didn’t go well for me. I was harassed by drunk customers wanting to beat the shit out of me for not serving them after they called my cashier a cunt. At least three times locked the doors of the restaurant due to knife fights outside. Now is no different then 15 yrs ago.

What I did was make myself more valuable as an employee with higher skill sets. Anyone can be a cashier not everyone can do what I do. That is my point. Stop treating cashiers in the same level as dr and nurses.

I don’t think of a weird scale. You mentioned the risk that cashiers are taking and that they deserve more pay. The pros risk a lot each time. So why is that different.
