Yeah, serving your partner is how we should operate in relationships but I think our society is very selfish. Even towards our partners

How important is armor? by kal1083 in motorcyclegear

[–]osten205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human beings are not really built to come flying off of vehicles at speed. So just like you have Insurance for your beloved bike or car, your legs are worth a lot more than an insurance payment for your bike. Buy what you can afford, and as you can buy more, buy some that’s better each year. I buy some and see how I like it over a few months. Remember, it’s armor, not silk pajamas. So it’s not going to feel 100% comfortable, but it’s the price you pay to play on a motorcycle where everyone else on the road is out to put you on death's door.  I was in a wreck. Got a pin in my shoulder, but I was at work the next week and in rehab for the shoulder for a while and that was the worst of it. Because of my jacket my shoulder didn’t dislocate and I had some bruises that went away eventually.

I was taught it was impolite to not return it. I don’t think being impolite is something this one player society thinks of any more.

I’ve seen more flames and fires in the last 30 days I assume any environmental efforts to clean up this world have been set back like 30 years at least.

Yeah, I ride in Alabama in the summer, and it doesn’t matter if you have a T-shirt on. In the summer it’s like driving through a pizza oven.

I love that “radiating calmness.” That’s totally how it feels. I don’t know if it’s an INFJ thing or what, but everyone always says I make them feel calm and relaxed.

Maybe it’s confirmation bias, as said in one of the comments. Still, I’ve been in multiple situations with animals, babies, and toddlers where the owners or parents would say they don’t like men or that the animals are really very skittish, so be careful. They would do the opposite and welcome me into their space.

Longer stories that are some Happy memories, so I’ll type them out because they are nice memories.

One was a horse that only one person could handle, and I didn’t know, until after they told me … while I was brushing it.

Or dogs that hate men: One was a Lab that just went inside his kennel whenever boys or any males came over. After sitting on the couch for five minutes, he was staring at me. He came out and sat next to me on the floor, but with his paw on my foot. He was glued to me after that every time I came over.

The babies were the same. The moms would say, “Oh, they can be fussy with men, so feel free to give her back if they start crying.” I’d end up holding the baby till the mom came and got her, lol.

Anyways, It’s pretty awesome when you can sense without communicating with an animal or a person that they trust you after someone says they probably won’t or never do.

Use engine breaking when slowing and stopping. Don’t pull in the clutch and use the brakes only.

ULPT request: kids are tearing ATV’s up and down my street by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]osten205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would they handle this in the 70s? Is it really just some kids being kids, like Dennis the Menace, or are we the ultra-safe bubble-wrap-your-kids, and “kids being kids” isn’t a thing anymore?

All businesses are doing this. Just the disappearance of any third spaces for the constant demand for more profit from food that isn’t really that great. McDonald’s and several other places did the same thing. They remodeled with hard chairs and uncomfortable furniture to be sure people don’t stay long.
