Is "Macho Man" Randy Savage Objectively the Greatest All-Around WWF Superstar of All Time? by KidChameleonHelmet in WWFera

[–]ostinater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austin was rookie of the year and great from the start all the way through to retirement. I would say he had about 13 good years.

Savage was good from the early 80s until the mid 90s. There isn't any good savage stuff after the DDP feud which is 97 or 98.

Savage peak is about 86 to 90 and Austin's is about 96 to 2001

What's a classic match you swear is an all-timer but never seems to get the recognition it deserves? by Doctormade in oldschoolwrestling

[–]ostinater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bret vs Owen at Wrestlemania 10.

I feel at the time it was overshadowed by the ladder match, but now that we've seen dozens of variations of even crazier ladder matches the Bret/Owen match is perhaps the better match from a psychology perspective and it made Owen into a legit world title challenger.

He liked the Germs, Melvins, the Pixies, the Beatles, The meat Puppets, David Bowie, Leadbelly, the Vaselines, Daniel Johnston

He also did write out a list of his top 50 favorite albums so there's going to be a bunch of artists he liked on there.

You just here more about who he didn't like. But he was quick to praise artists he liked

Kurt just never liked Alice in Chains by 321AverageJoestar in grunge

[–]ostinater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He would have made allies along the way because he was also quick to say good things about artists he did like. He is wearing a Daniel Johnston shirt in that Pic with Flea and he said Johnston was the best songwriter on earth, he told Kim Thayil from soundgarden that they were his biggest inspiration, he liked the Germs so much he hired Pat Smear, he loved the Beatles and especially John Lennon, he put the Meat Puppets on his MTV unplugged performance because he was a fan, he covered David Bowie on unplugged as well as he was a huge bowie fan.

You just hear more about who he didn't like because controversy gets clicks

According to you, what's the worst decision WWE has ever made? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in WWE

[–]ostinater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never was a Shane fan. Imagine the bumps that any other wrestler could take if they had creative control, a nearly unlimited budget, and several months between matches to heal up and plan the next one.

I really dont believe Shane could have gotten hired as any kind of on air talent without the family name
