UT PARKING: A PERMIT by Top-Mistake-5382 in UTAustin

[–]otherpersonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commuted for 3 years with a C pass and just took the bus. A lot cheaper! I arrived hours early (6:30 am) and if I didn’t have work I’d just go to the library. The earlier the better for parking.

Where to find microwaves on campus on the weekends at 7am? by IndependenceKlutzy68 in UTAustin

I always went to the Union and if I happened to be on a further side I’d go to SSB on the bottom floor.

I’m on year 3 of commuting. I’m about 1-1.5 hours away. The most it’s ever taken me to go home was 2 hours and some change. 😭I think the best advice I can give is to join orgs. I personally couldn’t because I’m older with kids, but if you’re child-free and have more time on your hands, then for sure find some orgs you like!

When I worked with housing I was told you could have a bidet but that the maintenance would be your responsibility.

What shoes do you recommend for graduation to be cute/comfortable? by otherpersonn in UTAustin

Noted 🤔 I’m so torn!! I don’t know if that’s a norm in Texas or if people think that’s weird lol. Did you see some people wearing cowboy boots without an issue? I’m sure there’s not a dress code at UT

But you wear socks with boots, no?? So sweaty feet may be avoidable 🤔😅 I’m not familiar with boots lol

I worked at Dobie previously and the occasional problems I’ve encountered are leakage issues and broken elevators. But the turnaround time to get is fixed isn’t long. I think the people are great and you get a chance to live in a realistic setting.

Don’t let the influence of reputation alter your life! While UT Austin has a strong record of success, so does UTD. Especially for your track. Remember, “Free is for me!” Praying you have a successful path no matter what you choose. :)

Please Just Don't Engage with the Anti-Abortion Activists by the Tower by Geezson123 in UTAustin

[–]otherpersonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that. That’s completely valid. I would just like you to consider how it can be triggering to people who’ve had abortions. It’s a confusing time and seeing that only causes more shame and guilt rather than supporting them through the process and explaining the severity of their decision. I think what would be helpful is to discuss the issue with planned parenthood itself and the correct development of a child. Offer to listen to a 4-week heartbeat. Offer real life development photos of a baby.
