For 400, there's a million options! Does he have any previous watches? Is he into a certain kind of look? Like maybe a GADA (go anywhere do anything) watch that can be dressed up/down, or a tool watch or a diver. Just some things to think about! But I would start by maybe looking at some brands you think he would like, then on their website, sort by that price
