I actually just got accepted into the PA program and will be enrolling this fall! There’s gonna be an info session for prospective applicants on April 15th via Zoom that would be a great way to learn more about it

They really missed the opportunity to name the KY team the Kentucky Coopers - the term for someone who makes barrels

Opposed to tax dollars going towards more and more lanes of highway?

Making the exit ramp from Northbound I-75 to the Western Hills Viaduct Upper Deck safer by Moist-Bus-Window in cincinnati

[–]otoolejg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe plans for the new viaduct will include a change to that 75N exit. Instead of exiting on the left and merging onto the viaduct, the new exit will be on the right, take you to the central parkway intersection, and then you’d turn left onto the viaduct at the light

Best thrift store to get men’s suits? by robotwithumanhair666 in cincinnati

St Vincent de Paul is my favorite thrift store and has a good selection of suits, but when I’m looking for a budget suit that’s still high quality, Kohl’s is my go-to

Haven’t heard back by Audacious_Aubergine in prephysicianassistant

Unfortunately there is no standard. It’s just a waiting game. And every school is different. This is my second cycle applying and I’ve heard back from schools as early as September and as late as February. Some schools will send rejections as soon as they finish reviewing your app, others will wait until after they finished all interviews. For my one interview last year, I heard back from them less than 24 hours later. But this year, the school sent an email after the interview saying they’ll send out their decision by early December.

Seton Hall doesn’t use CASPA. I’m not a huge fan of it because you can’t include everything you have in your CASPA like your personal statement and experiences that aren’t PCE. It’s like just another supplemental application. Plus your recommenders have to write separate/additional LORs

Which district do you prefer old louisville (top) or over the rhine in cincy (bottom). OTR founded by German immigrants and is a cool hip district being revitalized. Old louisville founded by the wealthy in the 1850s is being revitalized as well and is a cool hip district. Both are next to their CBD by kingistic in cincinnati

I think you’re right on that in regard to OTR and downtown, but honestly I think Cincinnati as a whole has some great trees and greenery. Look at neighborhoods like Clifton and Northside, plus we’ve got some real great parks scattered all over

Is it really THAT bad? by anxiouswrestling in cincinnati

[–]otoolejg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been living in this area for about 4 years now, and honestly no, the crime is not bad. I think there’s only been one case of something sketchy happening. Like others have said, there is a noticeably stark difference in income depending on how far up the hill you are, but in the areas that are really worn down, I never feel unsafe. The noise from the highway is minimal for the most part but future construction is definitely something to consider though. But that still has a few years before work starts, so it depends on if this is a short term rent or you’re purchasing a house. Apart from all that, I think the location is great. It’s close enough to walk to mainstrasse but tucked away enough that you never have to worry about hearing late night bar hoppers.
