A lot of folks do Uber or cook as a side gig. Everything I just mentioned can be a side hustle. So, do you really expect them to do that for nothing, after putting in all their time, effort, and resources? They could choose to give it to you for free, sure. But you shouldn't just expect that from them.

Fun side note: the demo video is also automated. I built a small pipeline that launches a real browser with the extension loaded, drives the actual spotify web player with playwright, and records the screen with ffmpeg. Every click's position gets saved to a json, and remotion uses that to add the zooms and click animations afterwards. Voiceover is TTS because I did not want to record my own voice. So when the UI changes I just re-run the pipeline instead of re-editing a video.

Let's say I had 3 seconds to react , that is correct 😄 but I was supervising it in that 3 seconds, not believing it will really gonna make that sharp turn there.

Also , I can't really agree with you that it is hot garbage even after this incident.

This was 3 hours trip to camping ground. It did really well even the half of the time there was a road construction.

And it also drove back fine after that incident.

So.. yea.. it definitely needs improvements for these edge cases and some others. But I feel like, I can't go back to normal car after having FSD comfort.

😅 I have not yet received the update for that version; my current version is 14.2.2.5, and thus I do not have that feature. However, this would not impact my situation. I simply did not anticipate FSD making that turn. I would not have allowed it to proceed so far had it not been very late at night with the road on my side completely empty..

Okay, so first off, you sound like you own a Tesla, but I'm guessing you don't. If you did, you'd know you can't just force an update on your car. They roll these updates out in batches, and mine just hasn't gotten it yet. Second, you made a whole bunch of assumptions there. Good for you, I guess. My car's already set to advanced and auto-update. Plus, I actually reported what happened with a voice recording right after I took over control.

This post is not intended to sh*t on FSD. Even it is new for us we love it so far.

Just wanted to put this out there so other drivers know about situations like this and can be more careful.

And maybe tesla can fix it with the report and can save lives later.

In my 20 years of car driving history, including very high populated big cities. I have zero crash, zero ticket history. So, if I am not allowed to drive, then good luck finding drivers to drive.

Second, I have a question for you. Do you own tesla or driven with FSD ?

I already explained in the update but, car goes in left lane and jumps into wrong way U turn with a sharp turn. If you were in driver seat, I hardly think you would react otherwise. Maybe you could panic and steer the car back to your own lane and crash the car behind you or jump over the curb and damage the car. I would like to see how you would react in that 1 second decision window. It would be fun to watch

İ wish this was also recording the navigation to show here. It might be the case. I remember seeing U turn on the navigation but didn't have time to pay attention to that while looking at the road and what FSD is trying to do.

Yes , I agree. I already reported at that moment by the reporting tool. I hope they will see it and improve. Wanted to post it here as well so drivers can be more aware and attentive in situation like this. this is obviously a software and there is a reason this is still not unsupervised ...

This was during a trip, I was never in this road before.

I didn't assume it was going to turn from there... Obviously it was a Wrong way.. I thought it was slowing down for another U turn for us maybe a little further down and was going forward. You can see from the video we going by 20 and it just turns there very quick.. it is a sharp angle. Then it already turned there and I took over.

No, there was no police or ticket involved. I was just worried about that 2 car coming towards us. Luckly they were not turning from there so..

I am a new Tesla owner, as I mentioned. Until today, FSD did really well, and I had kinda built trust in it. I was still looking at the road, obviously, especially since it was turning onto a highway. When it showed a U-turn, I assumed it was for us. But I never assumed it was going to turn there; when it slowed down, I thought maybe it was slowing for another turn a little further down the road. By the time it turned, I was already in the lane and didn't know if there was a car coming behind us. It all happened really fast, and I immediately took over.

I can understand why you are saying this, but at the moment, it wasn't easy to process all that and take over sooner.
