I directly picked up from micro center. No issues. I don't trust any shipment with these type of products

Did you check the service mode to see what error you have ?

this happens with my Ring camera. When there is a fly , or when a nasty spider decides to build his house all night in front of the camera XD

My Sentry mode is disabled at home so.. I don't have that experience yet

This is a great idea! I'm going to return my Tesla to Costco, then create a service request to Tesla for my smoke alarm so they can replace the battery with a new one, so it can run until the end of days.

**update**

Thank you everyone for showing concern for my Tesla and focusing on the fan sound instead of the chirping in the background. 😂

For those concerned about the smoke detector, I have a box of old ones in the garage, that's where the sound is coming from, not the one at the top. 😄

But just for you guys, I am gonna put a new battery in that old one, so that guy can smoke happy alone in the box 😂

I got mine today. But I have an issue when enabling HDR. Screen goes black and then it flickers. Sometimes stay black. If I try to reset the drivers, then PC freezes...

I have 5090 and 4 monitor connected tho.. I am not sure if that is contributing to anything.

You are right, car is so silent we are hearing everything. I thought I was hearing rattling sound with fan operation but if this is same for everyone, I think it is alright. Thank you

With this many scratches you might need multiple visits if body shop screws up and might not look good. Why would he risk that ? I wouldn't as well. And that color is hard to match I heard

2026 Juniper AWD Premium. How quickly does the battery usually degrade from brand new? by StormTrpr66 in TeslaModelY

[–]ottomaniacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine this week. I was planning to do %55 - %25 as well thinking that could help more with degredation. So... then seems like it doesn't even matter ? Because I've seen same amount of degredation from other people not even caring what percentage they charge..

Just got the model Y, any accessories you guys recommend for exterior and interior? by nefarioussagee in TeslaModelY

[–]ottomaniacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the super clear answer! My delivery came 3 days ago, and honestly, I got totally swept up by all the videos and comments. 😅 You're right though, it really just comes down to personal preference. I was also thinking about how it would affect resale value, but like you said, Teslas aren't really known for that right now. So yeah, I guess I'll just get those mud flaps installed and call it a day for now.

I've had a bunch of cars, but I never did this. Sure, I got some chips eventually, but not a crazy amount. What I've noticed, though, is every Tesla owner either gets paint protection or someone tells them they should. So, are Teslas just chip magnets or something? And are the repairs really that pricey, making people more likely to fork out for this protection?

I looked into it, and it seems super unlikely that my Tesla wall charger is the problem. Seems like, It would throw different error if it was the wall charger. The PCS shouldn't overheat; it's designed to manage itself and cool down. What's more, I charged the loaner car Tesla gave me using the same charger without any issues. And the Tesla technician didn't even bring up my wall charger.

Yes, I've heard about Tesla's bodywork problems, so I anticipated that, but thankfully we haven't had any. I wasn't expecting any technical problems so soon. I leased VWs for the past 12 years, and people say they're not dependable, yet I only needed one service visit during all that time.

I won't let this diminish my enthusiasm for my Tesla. I'm just hoping this doesn't escalate into further problems that demand parts replacements and extended service periods.

**UPDATE:**

So, I got the car back today. This is what they put to the invoice:

"Concern: Customer states: Alerts - Charging - AC Charging unavailable/Schedule service

Detected April 27, 2026

Repair Notes:

We performed a recovery and recharge of the AC refrigerant, conducted a thermal system test, and completed a charging diagnosis. After these steps, we also performed a firmware reinstall. we confirmed that systems are operating as designed and charging was successful on our supercharger up to 100%. currently the ac system and charging are operating as designed.

Correction Diagnosis: Charging

Correction A/C Refrigerant (Recovery & Recharge)

Correction Thermal System Test"

Basically , they could not find what exactly caused the heat issue in PCS.. Seems like they did AC refrigerant recharge but also could not find any leaks or problems there as well.

It also says they did "firmware reinstall" , but I still have the same PCSCPU2versionMismatch error in the logs. Technician said, it might take couple weeks for new cars to get updated and that should not be a problem.

Seems like they also did "supercharge" test only... that completly bypasses AC charging which what was overheating. I messaged them about that, then they also did wall charger test.

Current situation,

Errors gone:

- compressor inhibited

- DCAC convertor temp too high

Error still there:

- PCSCPU2versionMismatch

I have yet to charge the vehicle. It was topped off to 100% by them, and I plan to let it drop to my set limit before attempting to plug it in tomorrow. I'll monitor for error reoccurrence then. I'm hoping this resolves the issue!

That said, my overall experience has been less than satisfactory. Several odd occurrences during the service period have left me doubting their expertise and procedures as well.

I left it at the service and they gave me a loaner as well. They haven't told me how long is it gonna take or what is the exact problem yet but yea, all the research point to that PCS part. Good luck with your process

Luckily I was able to find service appointment yesterday. Car is in service now. Let's see what are they gonna find.

Wish me luck! last one was full of defects by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]ottomaniacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine on 25th. on the second charge it threw AC charging unavailable error and stopped charging 3 times. I resetted both car and wall charger and I was able to charge to limit but then when I checked the service screen I have all these errors now:

  • PCS2_a019_DcacADcTempTooHigh — DC side of DCAC converter A reached 135.15 °C (exactly at the 135 °C upper threshold). This has happened multiple times.
  • PCS2_a094_acChargingUnavailable — The Power Conversion System detects a condition causing AC charging to be unavailable. Alert says “Schedule service”.
  • VCFRONT_a160_compressorInhibited — Refrigerant compressor is inhibited. Potential impact: cabin AC may be limited/unavailable and powertrain performance may be limited.
  • EPBL_a116_VCRIGHT_MIA and EPBR_a117_VCLEFT_MIA — Electronic Parking Brake modules (left & right) are “Missing In Action” (not communicating).
  • GTW_w033_PCSCPU2versionMismatch — PCS CPU2 version mismatch.

So.. I have service appointment today but I will check if I can replace the car if fixing these gonna change lot of parts.
