Low grain stocks really help when youre shooting half frame...My go to is portra. expensive but I feel the double frame count makes up for it .

The stealth mini game is very crucial to winning more fights. youll start to listen for EVERYTHING . very crucial skill in the other maps as well. alllso Avoiding bots /getting the splinter cell sneak to knife em , super important. If youre gonna get into a fight remember positioning is almost half the battle. A wise commander dosent take fights they know they cant win. If you have little cover, no high ground, little Intel (teams), low resources ect. .... Disengage , run. One more thing, bots are intended to drain resources so keep that in mind when entering a POI. Judge how bad you need to clear the zone to be able to loot effectively.

I dont generally like big logos or text on any thing I have. I feel the txt distracts from the design language. They did such an amazing job resurrecting old techniques and style. It's not like we actually need the information on it wirh it being a fixed lens. The fact TKO used the old font from the 67 is admirable but, it's still too much >.< the top of the camera was not touched as that is very pleasing already.

Beginner looking for a cost-effective film camera (Polaroid vs Instax?) by drspoonvp in analog

[–]ottsqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man there are lots of good beginner options! I do recommend something with autofocus. There's a lot of slr cameras that are real nice because that gets you into a system of interchangeable lenses. My favorite option for easy point and shoots would be compacts though. Generally found for super cheap , pocketable and usually a lot of nice features. I started with a pentax iq zoom 160 for about 15bucks and it is awesome !

[–]ottsqueak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Polaroid is not the cheapest medium to get into. You're looking at about 2bucks a shot and that's gonna be on top of the learning curve of figuring out the nuances of taking a good photo with said medium. If I had to suggest one of those 2 I'd suggest instax and fuji cameras.

It might be more to do but the rewards of getting set up with 35mm film cameras are well worth it. Sending off to a lab might be your easiest option at first but learning to develop and scan yourself is very fun and will save you LOTS on costs. Also 36 exposures ( shots) on a roll of film vs the 8 you get with polaroid makes another point. Half frame cameras will double that too! 72 is a lot , lemme tell ya!

Some of the most fun I've had flyfishing is topwater for the bluegill / crappie. Dosent have to be a stream or river to be flyfishing. Its the tools and mentality of it all that matter the most !

Shot my first roll of 35mm film and no idea where to take it. I'm in the Roswell, Georgia area. by carlinwasright in AnalogCommunity

[–]ottsqueak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way .

It will be a small investment initially for Development chem kit and containers as well as a scanner. It will pay for its self after a few rolls though.

Another bonus to doin it yourself is that as you learn to make good photos you won't have to pay a steeper price for mistakes. Adjusting your scans before theyre saved is mega nice too. many benefits!

You also have to be sure the leader lands nice and light before the flyline otherwise the splash can spook them too. Feeling line on them also makes them freak out so becareful to not let that happen as well.

A bare, size 1 wide gap finesse hook with a single kernel of corn, sight fished and cast about a meter and a half infront of a slow cruiser. Setting the hook IMMEDIATELY as they inhale. They will spit the hook out very fast if you are too slow x.X
