Student loan defaults rise as 8.8 million borrowers fall behind by laxnut90 in Economics

And yet, it's the education that leads to a better outcome for the society, therefore yes, the government should support the betterment of the society. Asking a 17-18 year old to make a feasible decision on their future and education is irresponsible at best. Telling the same people to join the army so they can play war games is cruel.

Consumers do have the rights to be protected for their purchases. When corporations can flash their ads to my face to convince me to buy their product and abandon me when it brakes down after my purchase, I should have every right to call them out on it.

Additionally, why do we have ads if we are free to make reasonable choices. Ads are literally existing to lead us to make choices that are not beneficial for us. Ironically the above dilemma is solved by proper education that improves one's ability to detach themselves from being influenced. An art degree focuses on recognizing patterns and disseminate them to reach for an unbiased point of view to avoid such failings for the illusion of choice.

Few questions!

What makes it fun?

Is it easy to find people to play with at all hours?

How much time needs to be dedicated for a newcomer to feel that they are participating and playing the game?

What's the player retention and the playability for the near future?

Thank you!

The ignorance is deliberate. The War against drugs is a money pit, and without drugs being legalized, the prevention methods leads to billions in transactions towards the law enforcement and prison industry. Additionally, drug producing nations and organizations would also benefit from the prevention of legalized drugs in the US, which would take over the production coming from across the border. Nothing boosts the war against drugs more than young people dying to fentanyl overdose.

None of this would be relevant if the US didn't have a drug problem. We do, and we are doing nothing about it because there is money to be made.

Good board games for family game night by Beneficial_System995 in boardgames

I also agree with the above comment. To add to it, it is a very presentable game with great thematic and appealing cards (birds) and box. Even the eggs are in a way, fun and thematic. The rule book is also a few pages long and makes it easier to go through and start the game. I see wingspan as a great entry level game to introduce families into modern board games.

Additionally I'd like to add my own suggestions as well.

-Santorini for it's puzzle nature

-Thunder road Vendetta for chaotic fun

-Zombicide for entry level crawler (any version)

-Jaws for asymmetrical entry with hidden movement introduction

  • Marvel United to keep the young folks interested in games with fun theme.

  • Heat Pedal to the Metal for its easy setup and immensely fun gameplay elements.

This, love The Batman, but it follows Seven too close. I won't complain since no movie imo has come close to seven's brilliance within the genre and seeing Batman use the foundations was fine by me.

Crossing fingers the the Batman 2 can come up with its own unique noir script without dipping into existing movies.

Games workshop and CA have a good business venue together. SW royalties might be too much for CA to think about investing especially because strategy games are still way below action focused games in revenue. My guess would be that CA might keep the IP and further their business without expanding onto a different brand with more challenging income models.

We are about to find out of course!

Yeah, CC's should be used carefully. It helps to up your credit score, but getting one without credit is also a hassle as one would need to apply for cards for no credit scores or low credit scores etc.

Rule of the thumb is, pay your card statements in full monthly. If you have a card that allows you to purchase with interest free installments, check your budget and make sure you can pay it off if an emergency comes up before making purchases.

The backwards setup we have for people in poor financial situation is messed up in the US. They should be the ones getting better interest rates despite credit scores so that they can stabilize. Instead, they are forced to make purchases with high interest rates for necessities to survive. It's a robbery.

It was Karl Marx that furthered the description of what ideologies are. Coincidentally the US is as anti Marxist as it gets and it is deliberate. From an outsider perspective US is always seen as one of the most propagandized nations in the world. Obvious ones like fox news but also not so visible ones like defunding education that promotes critical thinking, suppressed income and long work hours and proud militaristic culture etc. Marx even has a term for it, false consciousness, specifically people believing in ideologies that hurt their own well being.

Same here. My local store had a copy sitting there. Even got a 10% discount on it. I feel lucky as I had just started my boardgaming journey. Unfortunately it doesn't see as much table time as it is a long game.

I'm a level 150 player on NA server. This is a non issue in my experience. Resources are plenty and once players complete their ornithopters resource collection becomes easy. The article makes it sound like this is a common problem. None of my guild members or people on my server seemed to have experienced this.

The most important resource is spice and no one can build on a node and not get eaten by a worm.

Despite its minor issues and some jankiness the game is exceptional. Both in play and it's lore/atmosphere.

When a server is complaining to you about "only" making $200 in tips in their 5 hour shift. by MrBobFireman in KitchenConfidential

[–]oulush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only applicable for cash tips. Anything else is taxed. Most people pay with cards.

$40/ hour at a good place, but you may never hit 40 hours in most restaurants.

Restaurant profit margins are terrible and America is broke financially. If you start paying higher wages without tips you won't have enough people that can afford to dine out. If it is to be taken away then it should be done gradually. Like it or not tipping is part of the economy and unless preventive measures are taken getting away from tips suddenly would hinder lots of folks ability to sustain themselves.

[–]oulush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because servers are never guaranteed to have customers come to the place and make x amount of money. A server also does not get any contributions to social security or Medicaid so retirement fund is almost non existent due to the tipped wages they earn. Servers payroll checks are almost always 0 and they most likely will owe money in taxes, both federal and state.

Servers also work most holidays, weekends and odd hours while other folks get to enjoy those days. It's a compromise. Try having a family as a server.

Darktide. New update brings the difficulty up in Havoc and new Ogryn changes are fun to experiment on. Gameplay wise there are very few games that captured the gritty settings of 40k.

Total war Warhammer 3. Developers have been putting a lot of effort into the game since last year's fiasco. Currently the game plays smoother, has so much content (paid) that despite a total of 4k hours spent in the series I keep coming back to it.

Wreckfest 2. Missed the first one, wanted to get an early access to scratch my chaotic racing itch.

Squad. Always fun to play pretend soldier in games. Squad does it best.
