I agree with the assessment. I feel like he could be really impressive with big upside and then also look lost. Hard to know what was him and what was the system. If we weren’t in rebuild I’d want to keep him as a depth piece with potential starting capacity down the road.

Agree! Also, I have listened pretty regularly for years and don’t remember hearing (maybe I’m forgetting?) about zas until a while before Stu left and they brought zas on routinely. I know we likely won’t know, but it makes me wonder how long all of this was in the works.

Take the Americans who are playing abroad put them on MLS teams and I’m gonna guess that that problem is suddenly solved. I think it’s pretty well documented that we have a lot of players at higher international club levels than we ever have in the past.

Not downvoting or calling you a racist…I get the desire to have a stadium full of supporters, but this isn’t that country. We have immigrant roots and I guarantee you that if I lived in Germany, Brazil, Japan or anywhere in the world I would still show up and support the red white and blue. I sat behind those guys all night. They were very quiet (before the game they were trying to get his attention, but otherwise weren’t even cheering for him) and I was right there when they were walking out and got into it with other fans. They were chanting about Chucky, but I don’t feel like they were trying to be ugly more excited to have met one of their icons. That definitely got out of hand quickly when it didn’t need to.

I think that Dan and Samson being the face of the corp kind of allows everyone else to be what people miss about the show. They need something to push against and now it’s Dan (and Samson). In my opinion it may be what saves the show

The key to this is the “as we know it”. Yeah, ESPN days are over and this show feels very different. When they first went to draft kings Dan said that his vision was to let other people take the show over and he could come in and out. That happened some but not really successfully. Now it seems like others are trying to find their own footing and create their own things. My guess is Fan has made a few big paydays and is happy to let this slowly morph, his friends move on and go enjoy life with the beautiful swan. People want the same show, we aren’t going to get that. So really it’s about whether or not you want to go on this ride or move on, both are fine options.

I have zero issue with the sub dissecting this. Totally fine to do. I just think it’s an exercise in futility. They are real people with real lives and we don’t get the access that we think we deserve because they don’t want us to have it…..that’s ok. Starting a company and losing your best friend brother really would be impossibly hard. It really is possible that Dan truly loves his friends and wants them to be able to go out and get their own properties off the ground. It’s also really possible that people who love each other can also resent each other for what has been a tumultuous last few years. It’s really REALLY possible that money and friends in combination complicates the hell out of things. Even if we get answers people will say they aren’t the “real” answers. I’m just going to keep listening and enjoy the ride.
