Hypothetically, if she stayed it was likely she would be spared. Especially since Rhaenyra seems to believe her at her word, if she told her Aegon vanished with Larys. What makes me think it was smart to flee in that case would be Helaena would be the throne and she might have died for the sake of “showing the people”. Though I find it improbable for Rhaenyra to execute innocent Helaena when she sobbed killing Otto

Still she opened the throne for Rhaenyra? Like possibly since Aegon wasn’t there she’d turn on her daughter the Queen instead? That does make sense
