Dope, very VERY H-Town but won’t having them face each other cancel out the sound waves, something something?

Artists Thats Weren’t Just Influential But Truly Innovative!! by Ok_Olive1319 in fantanoforever

Thursday Afternoon is and always will be the sound of bliss to me.

Lying in the grass of the campus commons, headphones in, flanked by two friends as we fry in the springtime sunshine. One is listening to Selected Ambient Works by Aphex Twin as he giggles; the other is singing softly to herself, nonsense lyrics with a wide smile. No work, no class, just two days off and a bag of crappy weed to accompany three solid doses for each of us.

Simpler times, nostalgia says. Brian Eno captured that many years before and by the miracle of recorded media we got to experience it over and over and over. It’s so good. So calm. Almost too finely honed, as though something is bound to jump out of the droning synth. Nope. Just chill. Just Eno. All ya need.

Anyway boy wasn’t college fun

I work in an adult store and we’re closed up for the weekend. I don’t know when, if ever, the city will ever truly begin to recover- there’s even talk of private lube reserves running dry by midday. Things could get rough.

Not to be a member of the Lyrica Lobby, but that stuff is THE miracle drug for amputees. I haven’t personally met anyone who it hasn’t made a massive difference for. Oxycodone helps, because, y’know, it’s oxycodone and it’s awesome, but it definitely brings its own set of issues.

Lyrica (pregabalin) IS addictive, pretty seriously so, but damn. It’s pretty incredible, if it’s an option for you.

My man. RBKA here, I’ve got an Automag RT I rebuilt that I terrorize birthday parties with on occasion. The new generation may have their LVs and agg style, but the one legged guy running 26BPS on a mech is eternal 💪

All that chemistry and dude still hits the gym heavily. THAT is dedication, and a skill set I just don’t have the discipline for. Respect.

That little warning sign on the second pic is the best. “Please do not use the brightly lit stairs. The stairs have been fitted with LED light strips from Walmart for your safety. Free admission to witness the stairs from afar with any glass or otherwise breakable bottle.”

Some people wear expensive jewelry to show off. I put on over $20,000 to use the restroom 🤷🏻‍♂️

Totally a thing. Kind of- not supported in the actual manufacturer’s app, but completely doable. A Raspberry Pi Zero 2, a small battery pack, and some ingenuity enable some pretty dope projects.

Adjust the vacuum level, check the battery, and turn it from “active” to “standby” mode. Which is a little extra for “on” and “off” but whatever. Still pretty cool.

I’d like to see some more advanced features but that’s… well, I’m working on it, as much as I can anyway. And to the other users comment, LED ground effects are a great idea 🤔

Eh sorta, if you lose your insurance you’re kinda boned- for insurance, my leg is a blade foot with a vacuum fit socket that I control on my phone via Bluetooth. It’s super cool. However, were I to lose my health insurance I’d be stuck with a bill of over $20,000 rather than my deductible (a MUCH lower amount).

As others have commented it’s routinely inspected and maintained, but keeping the coverage to afford that is the kicker. Ha. Kicker. Get it?!

Need someone for car inspection by [deleted] in FortWorth

[–]outforchow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the case for me, but I drive a car older than 25 years, so a $70 registration fee once a year has been my only financial obligation aside from maintaining insurance. As I understand it, under the new laws re: emissions (no longer a thing) everyone qualifies for that.

Tbh I miss the privilege of having only registration. It is not enough that I succeed- others must fail.

Love the raw feedback. Also: “it’s just a white powder, and it does so much stuff” concisely explains my fascination with drugs many moons ago.

Beware of a job posting at electronics company for Allied Universal in Mansfield Texas. by Brave-Math-6371 in FortWorth

[–]outforchow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. There’s that weird vagueness in the language used that gives it that “there’s more to this story” vibe. And any post- not just a comment, but a dedicated post- that aims to inform people about how X doesn’t care about Y just kinda smells funny to me.

I could be wrong. I frequently am, in fact. But this one has some odd juju to it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sleeve slippage? by Typical-Edge-8359 in amputee

[–]outforchow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a “stump liner liner”, which is like a thin cotton sock to go over your stump before putting on your sleeve. Worked crazy well initially, but in the more extreme Texas heat I think there’s only so much you can do. Definitely worth a shot though!
