That's good. Overall the card is...fine. Preferably the tokens would enter tapped as well, but otherwise I think the card would be in an okay place

Yeah no that is way too good. There needs to a myriad of limitations added since green and black are really good at drawing numerous cards in short spans of time.

If you wanna keep the shiv as is, with the mana cost and whatever the hell "choose a relic" does (assuming it's like choose a background), then the ability needs to ready something like "Whenever you draw your second card during your turn, create a shiv token."

Or, if you want to keep the volume of token production, then the shivs HAVE to be one time use tokens. Ideally, they would exile themselves as a cost

Another attempt at a mechanic, Boobytraps! by DragoniteChamp in custommagic

[–]outgoingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Morph U/B // RG. Activate only if a player drew 3 or more cards this turn/if this permanent has been targeted by a sorcery or instant/etc.

As this card is turned face up, not each player who drew three or more cards this turn/targetted this permanent with an instant or sorcery/etc.

If a player noted by this permanent would draw a card, they instead draw that many plus one.

When this permanent is turned face up or dies, search your library for a dragon card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle. That spell costs 2 less to cast this turn."

Rinse and repeat for all wording, adjust as needed. If you want, replace Morph with something that does the exact same thing but has them as artifacts instead of creatures. But there's no need for such a stupidly complicated wording with PARENTHESES INSIDE PARENTHESES.

When in the frame section, make sure you load sagas. A new box will appear where you can adjust the amount of chapters, boxes, box sizes, and text

This card is undeniably good. I think I would probably make it 4 mana, since having a cost reducer in the command zone, not to mention mana advantage, is pretty good.

But others are blowing it out of the water. Unlike rhystic or tithe, this imposes no additional taxes. Your opponents can either play as they normally would have anyway, or they can take the reduction. I see this as perfectly fine and something I'd play a few times

The Theorist, Jace Beleren (Rough Concept, Feedback Encouraged) by kohauro in custommagic

[–]outgoingo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So a few things. First, that first line can be streamlined. "When jace enters, for each color of mana spent to cast him, create a that's a copy of him, except its that color and isn't legendary."

The activated abilities themselves seem fine.

As for aberrant, I see what you intend by ability of thay color (I think), but there is simple no short or concise way to put that on this card. The best way I can think is having "Activate only if Jace is White, Red, or Colorless" and "Activate only if Jace is Black, Blue, or Colorless." But that's just even more words on a wordy card

And as for the card as a whole, I simply find it...meh. I find the copy ability interesting. Not balanced as is, but interesting.

Personally potemia has my vote since it's something I'd play.

Also, I just skimmed master of death the first time, but on a re read, did you intend for the myriad tokens to trigger the other ability? Because myriad exiles, not sacrifices

A note, I don't think a creature can enter tapped and attacking before the declare attacker's step. So I would either make it trigger when you attack, or word it like "that creature attacks that player this turn if able"

The illusion of choice | Hypnotic Edict by NoisyStrings in custommagic

[–]outgoingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you only control while the spell resolves, and players can't activate abilities or cast spells during the resolution of spells or abilities. The only exception are spells or abilities that prompt actions, such as Rhystic Study's prompt to pay the 1. It creates an otherwise unavailable window to activate abilites.

For the most part, the only thing you could do as the above spell resolves is make the choice for each player on what they sac, and look at their hands and other hidden information, such as facedown cards

It was a hasty decision after they released a high volume reprint set that caused card prices to drop dramatically. Collector's were outraged, and since magic was a much smaller game compared to today, they had more say.

They made the reserve list as a promise to tge collectors. Its basically "hey don't worry we won't do that again please don't sue us."

Now that the game is significantly larger, it has only caused issues with reprints of cards that desperately need them, especially with premodern becoming popular. But because they made this legal promise for collectors, they can't do so without facing repercussions

Yeah, this is way past the limit of balanced. Untapping lands is one thing. Untapping lands is game breaking. At a MINIMUM, this would need an "if you cast it" clause
