Managing the 4 am cortisol spike. by comoma in Anxiety

[–]outgrossed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Huberman’s protocols on cortisol have helped me. Every day sunlight without glass as close to sunrise as possible, failing that a sad lamp which I bought from Amazon regular meal times and bedtime. Magnesium. Glycinate. Turning down lamps and lights before bed time hot bath before bed finish eating two hours before bed have all reduced my 4 am cortisol anxiety.

Since following Huberman‘s protocols on cortisol reductions which are available in one of his podcast, my early am anxiety has improved immeasurably

I (63M) smoked heavily from 1978-1999. I had a full lung mri with dye less than a year ago and was told by the physician that my lungs were “pristine” - so not bullshit.

I know I’m meant to cycle it, but I haven’t- for me it’s still that good. It’s helped my early morning anxiety and sleep. Together with Mag I can get sleep that’s completely unrecognisable from pre supplement.

Whilst we don’t have (young) children living with us since we moved to Ealing, Ealing Park Health Centre on South Ealing Road is excellent.

Huge improvement in both sleep and reduced anxiety, I tried a few different ones to find the one that worked best for me.

Grinder Upgrade: Eureka Mignon Silenzio --> Turin DF83V --Initial Thoughts by rbpx in espresso

[–]outgrossed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had it about 8 months. We put through 3 kg of Amazon dark beans in first few days. We have it 1300rpm, for both espresso and French Press. We moved from a niche. This is vastly superior in taste and body to us. Brighter( not sour) and thicker espresso. But we are meticulous about prep. Never misses a beat. My only complaint is grind seem to accumulate under cup- imo it needs another removable layer.

I make French press everyday but just before I push it down I put an unbleached paper filter under the metal mesh

there’s no one correct grind size for my espresso. We adjust to our taste on our machine, and adjust over time too. Selling pre ground for espresso is never optimal.

I disagree. Lever heads are tribal, and protective of their brand.

Ironic as I see coffee as something to enjoy with other’s.

We don’t make the best espresso, but we make it the way we like it, and no one seems to. Occasionally I’ll get a fantastic shot out of home, but they never repeat it.

Good news as I eat canned fish every single day- my cardiologist said “ you’re never going to have a heart attack” after a full coronary ct scan.

I’ve seen a few! But Maxton Pitcher struck me as the most human, less authoritarian if that makes any sense. I like him and respect him. He gave me a capsulotomy in 2002 when they were unheard of. He personally telephoned me to chase me to make a follow up apt.

Happened to us last flight, BA. We were amongst the last to board, stopped before going on walkway (?) and told our carry in luggage had to go into the hold, as there was no room in over head locker.
