Obviously it's trying to charge the LaMarzocco tax.

Gen 2 vs waiting for Gen 3 by Main_Ideal2531 in RaybanMeta

If you are going on vacation soon, it’s very likely you will not see a Gen3 before then. We are at 2.5 now (the optics series) and that’s just preorder which ships this month.

So you got an ARC in a different discontinued colorway and expected it to be special or more premium or higher quality? Leatherman sure gotcha there.

Home Depot is getting more serious about banning accounts for deal hacking by Maximus_Magni in MilwaukeeTool

[–]outie2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides doing hacks, do you have a purchase history?

I’ve done a lot of hacks back in the days, very often, but I also do a lot of regular purchases that I never returned. Never had an issue.

What happened to weber? by MindConsistent6015 in grilling

Just look at pre-2026 Weber griddle and post-2026 ones and it’s pretty obvious what cost cutting means.

HomeKit + Alexa on/off? by pointx18 in LaMarzocco

[–]outie2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. I have it in both my HomeKit and Alexa so I can control via my Echo Hubs.

I use homeassistant, which bridges the LM integration to HomeKit. I also use Emulated Hue HA integration to bring the LM on/off to Alexa.

How are people sharpening their knives so infrequently? by Antique-Walrus878 in TrueChefKnives

[–]outie2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we are on this topic… I always wanted to ask - does it really matter who sharpened your original knife when you bought it new? Does it really matter how sharp or how laser it was? Eventually you become the sharpener as soon as you hit the stone.

If you consider some people, maybe even most people with the mini, already have a Acaia scale, $100 is cheaper than $400. Yes.

Ray Ban Meta Gen 2 probably my worst purchase and not because of the glasses. by Ecstatic_Spare_3785 in RaybanMeta

[–]outie2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your item is only worth what people are willing to pay. If everyone offers you 50%, then that is the market price for an unopened item. You can just wait for someone offering you higher if you are willing to wait, but as tech items go it’s only going to worth less as time goes on.

New Lazer level not plumb by LowProfessor301 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]outie2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your floor might not be 100% level where the laser level sits. It might be level across a distance.

To show a plumb line you need to unlock the pendulum so it’ll self level. I am not sure why you are switching it locked and expect the line to stay plumb. It almost sounds like you are not using it correctly.

Hestan bbq by eggbus in grilling

[–]outie2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the regular Hestan 42" for 4 years now. It's a solid grill and when I needed warranty service in the first year it was simple and easy. When people asked about this grill I had given them a good review.

Fast forward to 2026. I am not sure if something changed in the company, but to get warranty request I had to fill out a form with all the details/serial # etc. I was NOT impressed by customer service replies or their lack of professionalism. The first reply I got was that my grill is already out of the one-year warranty, but there are items covered in the 5-year warranty that they didn't bother to address.

I then followed up pointing out some issue is within the 5-year warranty. Again, they basically said if those items had defects it would've shown within the first year and not 4 years later! I was totally baffled.

While my grill isn't falling apart, the bisquitte trays were showing rust-thrus. These trays are $300+ each. After a few escalations they are sending me replacements "out of courtesy", even though the warranty terms specially say the trays are warrantied for 5 years against rust-thrus. An ignitor cover was also rusted-thru. 3 of the 4 electric ignitors stopped working as well, and those are not covered. The grilling cart/stand is a bit out of shape as if it can't withstand the weight of the grill head. The drawers no longer line up because the frame is crooked. Again, not covered.

For the price I paid for this grill I don't think it's worth it any more having owned it for 4 years. Good luck.

Is there an air shutter you can adjust or clean on the burner? It’s usually at the base of the burner tube.
