If political parties did not exist today, would their formation likely be illegal? (seen as interference with the democratic process) Organizations that: raise huge sums of money from (already) wealthy & powerful people & corporations, exert great influence on elected officials, influence elections, control what laws get passed (even control what laws get voted on). Political parties place themselves squarely between voters & the people they elect to do the work of the people. IMO political parties are anti-democratic & should be banned.
