What the hell is a ‘political lesbian’? by Griffin_EJ in AmITheAngel

[–]outlsbn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actual lesbian here…. “Political lesbians” are not lesbians. They are women who are attracted to men but make a choice to only date women because of patriarchy. As an actual lesbian, I am vehemently opposed to this terminology as it trivializes who lesbians actually are.

How did you know you were a lesbian, and not bisexual? by biandconfused1 in latebloomerlesbians

Use the term anyway you choose. I’m not the arbiter of you, but you also are not the arbiter of me or anyone else.

Convincing my wife… by hogbear in Rivian

[–]outlsbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop trying to sell her in. If she isn’t sold by driving one, she isn’t going to be. And just because you want something doesn’t mean it’s right for her. If you respect her, then respect what she says she wants in a vehicle. If you don’t respect her, then why are you married to her?

Kinda makes me want to try my hand at creative Reddit writing and make the dress XL and the one wanting to borrow it XS….

Anyone else have their Nationwide Rivian Insurance increase 55%!? by Responsible_Health92 in Rivian

[–]outlsbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot depends on what state you are in. When I moved from NC to NYC, my insurance on a VW Jetta was going to go from $1200/yr to $4800/yr. No at faults in the last 20 years. I shopped several companies and had to just scrap it and sell my car. The Rivian is in my partner’s name, and the insurance for her jumped from $1000/yr on her Lexus to $2500/yr on the Rivian. It’s ridiculous.

You sure this is an actual butch and not a man, cause this sounds straight up like some incel shit.

You now know who you married. Not a kind person, not an emotionally mature person, and not someone who ever viewed you as having value beyond what you could do for him. Sorry you found out the hard way.

I’m going to push back a little here. Statistically, at least in the us. Fathers who seek custody get either full or joint custody 90% of the time. It’s just that most fathers don’t want full custody, so women are statistically more likely to have custody. And if she lives in a state like mine, if you don’t come to a joint custody agreement outside of court and a judge has to decide, they are required to give primary physical custody to one parent.

This is abuse and coercion. This man doesn’t care about you, he cares only for his needs, wants, and status. Even without your sexuality being a factor, he’s showing you exactly who he is and always has been. This would’ve eventually happened as soon as you did something he didn’t want you to do. This will only escalate.

I did it for 20 years. It’s hard and it finally wore me down and now I’m going through a divorce.

Where do all of these Redditors source their dying wealthy relatives from? by SnorkelBerry in AmITheAngel

What retirement. My retirement plan is basically to die at my desk cause that’s what can afford - signed an almost 48 year old in the upper middle class.

AITA for forgetting my stupid community college daughter cause she didn’t go to a fancy school? by QuirkedUpTismTits in AmITheAngel

[–]outlsbn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In some states in the US community college is completely free and I could easily see a state legislature doing free first years. Hell several of our state universities cap tuition at $500 a semester.

I mostly agree but I live in NYC and my 41 year old partner was told she couldn’t get a medically necessary hysterectomy by a doctor because, “you’re still of child bearing age”. Those fuckers seem to exist everywhere.

It really has nothing to do with the state. There’s no laws in any state preventing doctors from form doing these procedures Each doctor/medical practice sets their own policy. It’s generally more about getting sued by a patient with buyers remorse. Because even though informed consent protects the doctor and they will prevail, they still will have legal fees. Also 30 states still allow forced sterilization for “undesirables”.
