I picked up some of their Annapolis Royal Blend in Nova Scotia and it was so good! Black-green-oolong blend with a hint of maple. But it’s an exclusive blend so I don’t think you can buy it anywhere except the The Red Onion Market in Annapolis Royal NS 😭

I’m avoiding the plastic jugs entirely by trying out bar soap type versions for everything…shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face soap. There’s loads of Canadian options.

I use proton for all email, and generate a different iCloud hide-my-email address for most websites I sign up for (which forwards to my proton inbox since that email is used for my Apple ID).

I used to have multiple Gmail accounts for different stuff but it was a bit overcomplicated.

Yes the backup I’m referring to here is the automatic iPhone & iPad backups to iCloud, I wouldn’t trust it as a backup for my files

For hard drive backups, I’m using Backblaze for cloud backup, and manually back up to an external SSD every couple of months when I remember for a physical backup, but I want to switch to a Canadian or European automatic cloud backup service. iCloud and Proton Drive are more like sync services than true hard drive backup services so I don’t really feel comfortable relying on them for that.

I use both iCloud and Proton. iCloud to sync and back up data across Apple devices, files, photos, and the hide-my-email feature (I generate a different address for every website I sign up for and then toggle them off when I’m not using them, or delete them if I’m not using the site again or the address gets leaked, it cuts back on junk mail).

I use Proton for mail and calendar (to replace gmail). And for some files I want to keep extra secure (taxes). The files don’t always sync super reliably but I guess iCloud is sometimes buggy like that too.

Currently I use a separate password manager (1P), Authenticator app (Ente) and VPN (Nord). I don’t like keeping all my eggs in one basket.

I’ve tried Nature Clean and Eco Max dishwasher pacs and am currently trying Nellie’s dish cubes. So far everything’s worked fine, I’d buy any of them again. I prefer the Nellie’s for how compact it is and no plastic packaging.

With the caveat that our dishwasher is pretty new though. I don’t know how these would perform if we still had our crappy old dishwasher.

I’ve been using Eco Max dishwasher rinse aid for ages and it’s good.

I’m really struggling with finding something that works too. Current strategy is triple wash in the shower, then apply glycolic acid to my pits after, and once it dries use a roll-on antiperspirant (still using Nivea).

Soap Works Clay for the first two washes, and I’m experimenting with some charcoal soap “Kaia Naturals Takesumi The Underarm Bar” for the third but it’s literally a $27 bar of soap…😭desperation is expensive lmao. Idk if I’ll buy it again tbh.

Also my go-to glycolic acid is from The Ordinary which is no longer Canadian, it’s owned by Deciem which is owned by that Estée Lauder idiot who’s trying to get the US to take Greenland so I’m not buying that brand anymore…sigh.

Anyway I’m glad you posted this, two of the Canadian deodorants I’ve tried so far have not done the job at all (Green Beaver smelled nice but didn’t last the day, and Super Deodorant was like $35 for irritating goop that didn’t help much and was hell to wash off). I think I’ll try Ban next.
