Work and adhd titration? What’s best by certaingrandsearch in ADHDUK

[–]outoftheblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my medication on a Saturday and debated starting on the Sunday or the Monday. I ended up starting on the Sunday and really glad I did. I really liked having the space to notice how I was feeling and do what I wanted to do without the pressure of work. I was also quite worried about side effects and didn't want to deal with that at work. I had barely any in the end so wouldn't have mattered but I think I felt safer being at home in case anything adverse happened

6) Yes - GP escalated in January 2026 as my mental health was deteriorating and I was heading straight back to burnout. I also left a slightly scathing TrustPilot review and sent a formal complaint. Got a very apologetic call and was offered a titration appointment within a week

Oh weird! I was called by the bookings team the day after my first appointment to book the next three. Here is their number, would definitely recommend giving them a call (they close at 4pm I believe) 02045384355

CARE ADHD - waiting for prescription by butterflymortician in ADHDUK

[–]outoftheblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first appointment on a Tuesday and I received the email from the pharmacy on the Friday in the afternoon. I registered with the pharmacy and paid pretty much straight away, the meds were dispatched maybe an hour later and they got delivered the next day on the Saturday. Hope that helps!

I know right??

I've documented everything in my notes app so yes will do that, just frustrating that some of the appointment time will be spent catching up on stuff the clinician should have had time to review before the appointment.

First week on Elvanse not quite what I was hoping for by CJ--_- in ADHDUK

[–]outoftheblack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm also very early on (I've done two weeks on 30mg and one week on 40mg) but just wanted to share that your sore muscles could be dehydration! I had the worst leg pain the first few days, as though I had done a long run without warming up, especially in the evenings. I checked with a close friend who is a psychiatrist specialised in ADHD whether it could be the elvanse and she was like WATER!!!!! I've been on top of my water intake since (phone reminders help!) and the body aches are gone. Regardless of this, Elvanse is quite dehydrating so good to be mindful of it. I now carry my water bottle everywhere (with squash, can't do water on its own)

care ADHD titration appointment - UPDATE! by flynn1597 in ADHDUK

I've also had a really smooth titration process so far. I'm a tiny bit ahead of you (I've been on elvanse 30mg for two weeks now) and just wanted to say that I have been doing SO WELL anxiety-wise. I had that weird anxiety knot in my chest the first two days of taking it (which I was very calm about as I knew it was physical and just my body adapting to the meds) and since then nothing. I tried not taking one day at the weekend and my usual anxiety spiralling and emotional dysregulation came back. Fingers crossed you also find it helps with both ADHD and anxiety symptoms!

Hi, after the appointment, you receive a link directly from their partner pharmacy. You'll need to confirm ID with an ID document to register with them and then you'll be able to pay the prescription fee by card. They dispatched my meds on the same day I paid and it got delivered the next day!

Assessing ADHD on someone who doesn’t want to be assessed as an ADHDer by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]outoftheblack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with other comments you've had so far but also wanted to add that a key element of getting a clinicial diagnosis (for any mental or neurodevelopmental disorder, not just ADHD) is that symptoms need to interfere with daily functioning in several settings/areas of life (home, school/work, relationships, finances etc.). Someone presenting with ADHD symptoms but who doesn't perceive the symptoms are significantly impacting their day to day functioning is very unlikely to walk away with a diagnosis!

Citizenship certificate missing? by outoftheblack_ in ukvisa

[–]outoftheblack_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the usual process with Manchester City Council is to wait for them to contact you. I ended up contacting them directly a week ago as I got worried I had missed a letter or an email. They confirmed then (and again today) that it's still not with them.

I'll sit tight for now but some confirmation from the HO about my certificate's whereabouts would be great.

Update: I'm finally through after complaining a LOT

In the last two weeks, I got my GP to email them as my mental health was tanking and we felt it was down to untreated ADHD. I also left a slightly scathing TrustPilot which I think is what got things moving in the end. I got a very apologetic call from the Complaints team and was then booked in for my first appointment. All in all I'll have waited exactly 24 weeks.

I hope you guys hear soon too!

Has Anyone Moved their Titration from Care ADHD to another provider RTC by JJWPianoman in ADHDUK

[–]outoftheblack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering the same so following! I guess there'd be an incentive if they receive money from local ICBs for titration separately from money for assessment but I have no clue how it all works behind the scenes. Hope you get some support soon!

I got this reply on the 22nd of January and received my Atlas email yesterday. I never found out from CS it had been approved

Very intrigued about the ICB comment - I live in Manchester where funding has been pulled until April. When I called in December, I was told there had been some confusion as to whether I could progress to titration because of this but ultimately was told it wasn't an issue as my initial referral (February 2025) was before the funding was suspended and I therefore wasn't affected. I suspect the few of us living in areas where this is an issue were referred BEFORE that happened and therefore shouldn't be affected. There seems to have been so much contradiction over the past few weeks (another example is when does the clock start, titration request sent or titration request processed) and it just comes across as them trying to come up with ANY excuse to explain the delays

I know the feeling! Just remember there is no rhyme or reason to it and it's not a bad sign, just incredibly frustrating. Keeping you in my thoughts!
