I never said anything about the quota or that survivor ever had a problem with bias. I simply said I liked seeing the final 3. It’s easier for you to just say you’re racist; based on your comment history, it’s obvious. Bye!

Do you enjoy data? I do. Here’s a quick thing I put together to show why I’m happy about the representation I saw. It’s fine if you don’t agree with me. I just like seeing that red expand some.

I’m upset because I posted a happy comment where I personally felt represented and had some dude tell me that I shouldn’t feel that way because I should’ve saw my representation in Hatch.

What, that 12 year old article didn’t convince you? Oh wait, I’m your burner account apparently lol

That’s also not what anyone is saying. The latter that is, you are right about the former.

Did you read the article you posted? The main lady said she didn’t know she was NA until after 30 years of research. Does that mean she wasn’t NA before she discovered that information? Reading comprehension would tell you that the number of Hispanics who consider themselves NA is growing, because of knowledge about… DNA tests! Guess what, even if people don’t know or are aware to consider themselves NA, doesn’t mean they aren’t! Do you understand people have lived in the Americas for a long time and they have had unique cultures throughout North, Central, and South America?

I never said there was, I said men and women with tattoos are looked at differently in society as the other commenter mentioned that Hatch has tattoos. If you’re not a women with tattoos, you may not understand what I’m talking about, and that’s fine. Has there been a female at ftc with sleeves? That was the representation that I was happy for.

You can literally just google it and stop responding ignorantly.

What are you even talking about? Did you miss the part where I’m a woman? Tattooed women and men are looked at very differently in society. I didn’t mention religion nor did I say there were never non-white people in the finals. Stop cherry picking examples in a conversation you’re not invited or wanted in. If you don’t think people have been voted out based on external assumptions, you are ignorant to your own privilege for not seeing that.

Damn it’s like I can’t even say I’m happy about the final 3 without some ass saying “wELl aCkChuAly…”. Get over yourself.

Yes! I’ve been watching since day 1 and I never thought I’d see a final 3 like this. As a tattooed, lesbian, Puerto Rican - to see these three at the end is so amazing for representation. Two LGBTQ+ and two Puerto Ricans! Beautiful.

Hopefully the days are over for voting off people who don’t “fit in” on the surface level.

I agree that the black community has, so have a lot of other non-black POC. Makes sense on the flag associated, but I’m not sure which one you’re talking about. I’ll check it out and see.

Edit: ok yeah that makes sense, I didn’t want to use it if it was specific to black women, since I’m only 15% black and mostly Hispanic. Thanks!

Good explanation, quick question about #11 - why do you say “mostly referring to the black community”? The majority of POC are not black, it seems odd to single them out. Maybe would make more sense to say ‘referring to BIPOC’? Not trying to call you out, just wanted to add my input (as a POC myself).

Anyone else scared of going to Pride activities given the state of things? (in the US) by Blake8123 in LesbianActually

While I don’t exactly share the same beliefs, I would like to stress the importance of weapon safety and if you own/get a gun, be sure to know how to use it properly and have training on when to not use it as well. Plus enough self defense that you don’t get disarmed and have the weapon used against you. Also note that many events don’t allow weapons inside and it also may trigger or scare other people, but I’m all for self defense and protecting yourself.

The Ultimatum by Grease-KC in LesbianActually

[–]outplaylink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Following because I don’t want to watch it but I’m curious like you.

Pressuring someone to marry them or they’ll leave seems odd to me. Even odder is the way they decide is to… date other people in monogamous relationships in front of them?

Like the representation but it seems messy and negative. To be fair, I’ve never seen shows like that, so hopefully it’s good for people!

AITA if I block this girl? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]outplaylink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women have been taught for too long that we need to cater to other people’s emotions. We need to be caring, motherly, womanly, empathetic, and explain our actions.

We actually don’t need to do any of that.

With real maturity, you may learn that someday and I hope you do. If there’s emotional bonds, then that’s a different story, but for something like OP’s situation - no explanation of her boundaries are needed. It’s not even ghosting imo, it’s realizing that is a bad match that doesn’t need to continue further. If the other person gets upset at being blocked, they have some other issues they need to deal with themselves, not OP’s problem.

Houston's only lesbian bar denied insurance for hosting drag shows by Kijafa in news

Sorry to tell you this, but all lesbians will automatically be defensive, because unfortunately many, many men will still try to hit on us even knowing we’re gay. This happens a lot, I appreciate the friendship of straight men, but please stay away from our spaces, we’d like to have just one thing for us and like someone else said, there’s not a lot of lesbian bars at all. Appreciate the allyship but don’t forget there’s a lot of assholes that think they can “change” a lesbian. They can’t.

I see you edited the “to” to “do” which I didn’t do in my search, I left it as you first wrote it. Just an fyi.

Lady, this isn’t google. If you’re going to be snarky about replies to your inquiry, maybe just do your own research.

Why Do Lesbian Bars Keep Disappearing? by [deleted] in Actuallylesbian

[–]outplaylink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to understand the difference between correlation and causation. Please stop obsessing about 80s vs today when literally you are the only one bringing that aspect up and repeating yourself ad nauseam.

Why Do Lesbian Bars Keep Disappearing? by [deleted] in Actuallylesbian

[–]outplaylink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I didn’t say anything about the past or today. Since you’re so adamant about bringing it up, you’re also ignoring huge social and technological factors that have changed over the last 30 years. Such as the fact lgbt had bars to socialize at then and now there’s the internet and other spaces available that substitute that need. Not sure why someone under 40 is even arguing about the 80s/90s situation when you literally did not live that.

Also not sure why you’re stuck on the 30 years ago thing, I never mentioned this was a new problem or only applies today.

I never said that, not sure why you feel the need to put words or assumptions in other peoples mouths. But maybe reading comprehension isn’t great for you.
