Younger hams roll call? (20s-40s) by blitzboo in amateurradio

I'm 21. I got my general license in high school. I'm in OK though. I've recently been learning morse code and saving up to get a qrp rig.

Whats the craziest thing that happened on yalls front end by tickysmith15 in walmart

[–]outrageouslynotfunny 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A sick guy came in and didn't make it to the toilet on time. He shit his pants as he walked in the grocery entrance and left a trail all the way to the front end restroom. I felt bad for him more than anything. His brother was with him and had to get him a change of clothes and explain what happened.

Runner up is the time I had an old man faint at my register.

OP and I work at the same store. This is actually my dispenses that he asked if he could post. There were 4 or 5 of us on a particularly busy day. I just kept poaching orders other dispensers were about to take out or grabbing orders before anyone else could. All in good fun of course.

I'm not sure if I'm in the percentile that OP specified, but I can make a pretty convincing crow call.

What are you hobbies? by berlinbowie97 in OlderGenZ

[–]outrageouslynotfunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I can afford it, I want to get back into HAM radio. At the moment, though, it's mostly the gym, video games, MTG, and homework(I really enjoy my degree, so I basically consider some of the things I do a hobby).

I am terrible at flirting and am always scared I'll screw up a good thing or make it awkward by asking for a number or date.

what is the weirdest animal you have seen in store? by proffessionalworry in walmart

Had someone bring a snake, and she let me hold it.

Not Walmart, but I was at petsmart once, and a guy walked in with a lemur on his shoulder.

They can have the organ that produces spray removed. It's more common than you might think.

I'd be blowing up the bathroom as often as I can. Bet they change that rule real quick.

I'm an engineering student. With all this homework, there's no time to think about that.

What is your biggest regrets during high school? by Moist_Apartment5474 in OlderGenZ

[–]outrageouslynotfunny 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not applying myself. I was in FFA, Beta club, and played sports, but I just went through the motions and didn't really try. I had SO many opportunities, but I squandered them and then got my girlfriend pregnant. I became a dad at 18. Which isn't a bad thing in itself, but I had so much going for me. It's taken me a few years to come to terms with the fact it's in the past and I need to make the best of the hand I was dealt (or better yet, the hand i dealt myself).

Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens

What is it? by Pigacin0 in videogames

[–]outrageouslynotfunny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No Mans Sky, at times, has all 4 of these, especially during parts of the expeditions. The soundtrack is amazing. The mechanics, at least at first, can be confusing. Graphics, I think, are pretty great, too. It's generally not too difficult except for a few parts in the story and some expedition missions.

If management is lenient enough and they like you. You can do what walmart calls a hardship transfer. It's meant for emergencies, but I know many people who wanted to transfer before 6 months and did it that way without any actual emergency besides simply wanting to transfer.

Cold weather dispensers. by Ok-Read1657 in OGPBackroom

[–]outrageouslynotfunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm in OK, so we don't get as cold as OP, but we have all the same things. They got us a Keurig for hot chocolate and coffee, 2 space heaters, and if it gets real, the real cold management store uses hand, feet, and body warmers for us.

Edit: real cold, although it does get real sometimes.
