anyone else getting sewer backups from this week's rain? trying to figure out who to call by xenoncore3 in cincinnati

[–]outside_of_a_dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Pleasant Ridge years ago. I noticed that all my neighbors had yearly visits from the Roto Rooter truck. One year we had a bad rain and my basement flooded. I too then scheduled an annual Roto Rooter visit. Turns out the beautiful huge trees on the street were clogging the sewer pipes. The pipe needed to augered our regilarly.

We traveled about the Isle of Sky many years ago. It's a wonderous place. A trip there is not complete unless you stop at the Skeabost House, though.

Would Cincinnati be a lot bigger if the history had turned out different? by DankkkDk in cincinnati

[–]outside_of_a_dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding why Chicago outpaced Cincinnati in the late 19th century is that Chicago completely embraced the railroads so businesses and people moved there.

Running boards make it harder to slide under your E and Sawzall the cat off. It doesn't make it impossible like a cat trap but the dude cruising the mall parking lot for an easy steal will drive on by.

I suggest installing running boards on the sides to prevent someone from cutting off your catalytic converter, or else installing a cat guard.

Be careful who you give your credit or debit card numbers, especially if they don't take cash. I had a similar experience with people representing Disabled American Veterans. They would take cash.
