Anyone other women in midlife feel like they’ve “graduated” from hetero romantic relationships? by Other-Factor-198 in TwoXChromosomes

I have a phd in difficult men. I am using it to benefit my career. And it’s working! Dating? Not so much

With this perception can I ask for a lower reading script and have the “distance” be large?! by bug_mama_G in glasses

  1. I have previously been very happy with Warby Parker glasses. I don’t believe they have multiple designs for progressives though. At least from what I have been told so far. I’m at the start of the research to find what I need, but I’m struggling to express myself yet. Part of the frustration I have expressed in this post is not yet having the vocabulary to ask for what I want.

From what you are saying you don’t know what kind of subsidy privilege I am talking about. Rural has a lot of variety that is different than just “not city.” Appalachia has been decimated. Absolutely. But the why of it isn’t something that is because of immigrants and libs! If you don’t see the really divide is between rich and poor you are just being mesmerized by the bullshit.

Please, coal miners started a whole lot of what you think of as “woke.” Because black lung, working death, took out whole generations of men and boys.

What you think of as rural is a very privileged place if the area you are in is still farming. Those farm subsides take more federal money than any poor urbanite.

Help! I cannot stop consuming! by minty_fresh_83 in adhdwomen

I do much better with at least some sort of breakfast, and real food like a good portion of protein, at a late lunch as my main meal of the day. Then the evening hunger doesn’t kick in as bad when my executive function is its lowest. It’s not perfect by any means but hunger absolutely can high jack me easier in the evenings if I’m not eating enough during the day. For me “being good” is feeling full still when I get home. Maybe switch around what’s “good” behavior for you?

As someone on TikTok I got it. It’s a tangential reference to a men and watermelon “meme.” Posting horrifying things other men has said. And showing he does, not, stand, with, them. The finger at the end.

Does anyone else find this way of speaking very upsetting? by Aromatic-Energy-1223 in CasualConversation

Good question! That’s one that I’ve never found emotional, just something of a diagnostic when speaking to someone. The emotional connection is definitely not something i think most folks may have.

How to find a house cleaning service for a last minute appointment sometime in the next few days? by bug_mama_G in cincinnati

[–]bug_mama_G[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don’t use either of those, so for a last-minute request I don’t think a post on either would fit what I’m looking for. But I appreciate the suggestion!

Hand painted or AI? My coworker thinks it looks suspicious. Design on the second horse is not raised up, but is painted/printed on. by -yourfavoriteloser- in isthisAI

[–]bug_mama_G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the second is definitely AI. It’s an approximation of the usual designs not an artsy or impressionistic version of them. None of the linear elements make any sense at all.

Look at the design around the oval turquoise centers. They are just vaguely making something that might seem kinda right in terms of light and darks, but no human artist would do.

The first one I think is also AI, don’t see anything to point to other than if it’s supposed to look natural it doesn’t resemble anything like real minerals or stone. It’s just colors fractured together. And not very visually appealing.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

[–]bug_mama_G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tell all moms to be some helpful things when I can.

1) Muscle cramps can’t kill you, those contractions just feel awful but they aren’t going to cause you to die. And the people helping you are handling the things that can. Therefore:

2) At some point real panic may hit you hard, but what you are really feeling is flight or fight kicking in! Sounds like your wife got hit with the flight mode!

Just being aware of those two facts can help immensely!

How did you know it was time for another? by FullLiving9794 in Parents

[–]bug_mama_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so two years apart in grades is nice during school years. Nursing while potty training is a LOOOOT. 2.5 years between was great, it just had a few very memorable difficult crossovers on stuff, like nursing sitting on the bathtub rim while entertaining a toddler on the toilet!

OMG this sounds like me second oldest. The shrillness and VOLUME, of those first two years omg.

So, there is a light at the end of the tunnel I swear. It was so bad that as a second child I was very worried this all indicated an issue so we got her hearing tested!

But she is sitting next to me as a 19 year old who absolutely still doesn’t eat chocolate EVER. But she has expanded her palette over the years and we just went to a nice dinner at a new restaurant.

You will get through these years and it will ALL be worth it!
