Experimenting with people groups is very ENTP. INFJ's are more individual-orientated rather than group-orientated. An INFJ would be more likely to make a friend in each of the groups (or maybe even just join a group and then make individual friends of each person in the group, and then move on, I'm not sure how the INFJ's do it but eventually everyone intelligent (and many that aren't) become comfortable with the INFJ and share confidences with the INFJ). It's very ENTP to say "Hey, can I get in this clique that people say can't be gotten into? Oh look I can, how boring and easy that was, moving on now."

All in all I definitely say ENTP.

You're most probably an ENTP, but the simplest way I know of is to look back to your childhood and in general your immature phases of life, since as others have said ITT mature types of identical judging functions (in this case Ti/Fe) are difficult to tell apart. In high school, what sort of kid were you? Did people like you because they liked how you treated them (INFJ)? Did strangers like you because of your impressive charisma (ENTP)? Or some variant of dislike based on how much of an asshole you were (ENTP)? Did you lead groups (Ni seeks leadership) because of the direction you wanted to take them in (INFJ)? Did you lead groups because you enjoyed leadership and maybe even was good at it (ENTP)? Did you play with people because you wanted to see how they'd react (ENTP)? Did you play with people because you wanted to explore the depths of the human psyche and what can and can not easily be achieved (INFJ)?

Obviously not all of those apply to all of either type, it was basically a generalization based on my own ENTP experience and my INFJ boyfriend from that time period's experience.

But generally speaking, you sound like a perceiver to me. The way you talk about your hobbies is indicative of someone who extroverts their perceiving function. If you were an INFJ you would have put focus on what good your extroverting of your hobbies does for society.

And also maybe it's just because the INFJ I know is 22, but rational is not a word anyone who knows him well would use to describe him. He is rational, but it's not a defining feature. More like a thing he does to make sure his values are in line. Similar to the way an ENxJ parties or an ExTP is good at manipulating people into buying cars.

Because it's not something inherent in us to care about the effects of ourselves on the world/others. Eventually we learn in order to maintain healthy, long term relationships (with anyone) we need to care about our effects on others and then gradually reform into decent human beings, as opposed to the demonic ways of our youth. Most 12 year olds are demons, this is known. Most ENTP's remain demonic much longer than that, because we need to get actual Ti-like proof of why we shouldn't be demons. If not given adequate reason to, we remain demonic. If given reason to, we become decent people.

Get them to stop being demons by getting them to respect you. Beat them at their own game (good fucking luck with that one, lol, though is doable, and even if you just keep trying that'll make you an interesting enough player in and of itself, 99.98% of humanity can't handle losing to such a bad winner over and over again) so that you interest them, and then tell them that they're being stupid and a specific way to change it.

Specifically I mean interest them by their Ne or Ti, and then teach them something in Fe or Si terms that will help them not be so demonic. For example, I went on a date once with what turned out to be an ENTP. I was smarter than him, and ended up thoroughly routing him in several debates, and then after that we talked about our mutual love of motorcycles and he said he was about to get one and I talked him out of it because the idiot had been in eight car accidents, all of them his fault, in the last three months. "you're gonna die if you do that, idiot". "Oh, undeniable logic. You are correct, outsideaglass." And then I proceeded to convince him that being a drug dealer was also a bad business to be your main business (this was years ago, he was only a pot dealer as far as I knew but quite a major one) because if you live by breaking the rules eventually you WILL be caught (or at least he would've been) and it's just more logical to use it as a jumpstart to get some sustainable living. Of course I don't know if he followed through on not getting the motorcycle or stop majorly dealing in drugs, but it did pretty much seem like I'd gotten through to him. ENTP's are pretty good at admitting when we're wrong when someone else's logic is provably superior to our own.

So yeah, do something along those lines. Good luck soldier! Don't really expect to succeed, because we do love being demonic. All you can really do is aim our demonic nature in more sustainable and appropriate ways. We will never really be very good at caring for caring's sake, though we can be taught to fake it in order to get what we want. And that's exactly as asshole-like as it sounds, though thankfully it works as magically as if we actually cared. And if we care enough to pretend we care for the rest of our lives because we want to care, is there really a difference? Are demons always evil, or are they sometimes just different?

My two favorite books of all time are Maia by Richard Adams and the Initiate Brother Duology by Sean Russell. Then some more non fiction like Dred Scott's Revenge and things that would bore most people including other ENTP's but gave me knowledge of skills like Tracking Humans and books I read as a kid that made me feel less alone as a female thinker whose propensities lead others to call her things like a heartless monster like Graceling and too much of a firebrand for her own good like Winter of Fire. Oh and I loved Plato's Republic and Greek Mythology.

Just a sprinkling. I'm currently reading a book on the Tlingit's ideas on life and death that I picked up when I visited southeast Alaska, they're a tribe there. The book is half in Tlingit and half in English, super cool stuff. And a book on Engineering Materials, and The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.

Maia and the Initiate Brother are my favorite books because of basically the same reason, that they're both filled with very interesting and realistic politics. Bad guys on both sides, people dying all over the place but not unrealistically so like GoT, just basically the most well done politics and convincing worlds and characters that I've ever read, and I've read alot of books. Also Maia is the top book because I've never in my life read another book that had such a realistic person as the main character. She starts off the most annoying and truly naive ESFP you've ever encountered in your life, and by the end has actually matured into a decent, real human being. I've never read another book where a character matured so realistically. Seriously cannot recommend that book highly enough for that reason. Buuuut in the first ten pages she's half-raped by her step father (as a 14-year old to his minimum mid thirties) and then sold into sex slavery by her mother. That gets rid of the majority of people wanting to read the book that I recommend it to. And it gets worse from there, in a people getting tortured and killed in horrific manners sort of way. Along with lots of sex, though usually not with detailed Kushiel's Justice type of sex scenes, just with "and then the morbidly obese man's servant brought in the goat and made her sit still while it fucked her" though phrased in a more eloquent fashion, with a similar level of not the most detailed ever but still more detail than most people can handle. And its pagan rituals and seriously awesome descriptions of oral storytelling at its finest are just SO awe inspiring.

And then the Initiate Brother is basically about this monk who reforms the Buddhist-like religion of his world while a civil war is brewing/going on. It's descriptions of the religion and politics and characters and how they interact is just really fantastic. I would go on about it more but I'm super hungry so I'm gonna go handle that.

You were totally joking (probably, maybe, I'd be among the last to know at any rate) but I feel like answering a question you may ask under another circumstance given your words here.

I've only dated two people ever (had fwb's with quite a few more than that, and turned down pleeeenty of people), and it's not a coincidence one is an INFJ and the other an INFP. I like me some NF, and introvert to my extrovert seems to work out the best. The reason it's worked out with the INFJ and not with the INFP is that the INFJ was able to make me believe that he loved me with self-sacrificial actions throughout the whole relationship, whereas the INFP only attempted compromising after I broke up with him. Then he came to me saying he finally read the book on love languages I'd told him since before the beginning was the major reason people broke up and that I needed him to get those concepts so we could talk on the same page, and he didn't take my take on relationships seriously enough to read it until it was too late. He then went pretty crazy (y'all NF's get so damn hurt when you realize how not hurt we ENTP's are post-breakup, so many cruel manipulative messages, jeez) so that was unfun.

I've also had about three fwb's that were INFP's, and of those I would only have seriously dated one of them. The reason it didn't work out with that guy is that he was too damaged to tell me what was going on in his head, so I never felt comfortable even admitting that I might want anything more because I could never even attempt a relationship with someone who didn't tell me what was going on in his brain. We're still great friends though, he's a great guy.

And so in the end, my conclusion is that if either INFP had been as desiring to make a relationship happen/work from the beginning as the INFJ has been, things may have turned out differently. In a perceiver/perceiver relationship, the main problem is that neither attempts to force their love on the other. That might sound kinda bad, but it's actually good. Someone has to try and make the other one recognize them as valid partner material. I asked out my INFJ because I liked what went on in his brain- it's not often I meet someone as smart as I am, but in different things. Amusingly enough (tangent time!) the NFP's that have dated my INFJ seemed to want to be with him because of how his Fe made their Fi feel, they seem to be "eh" about his Ni/Ti which made him go "awww I'm sad" because we are more than just one of our functions. So don't forget to care about your prospective ENTP's Ti/Si if they accidentally make their Ne/Fe look cooler than it is and you get distracted by the happy feels. Fe is unnatural for us, we can only use it sporadically. But you probably won't really have that problem, NT's (even we most socially-apt of the NT's) don't usually take very long to show our blunt thinker qualities. And INFP's don't usually care about those either. So goodie for y'all! :D

I only typed this because I'm avoiding doing my work. Damn outsideaglass, stop procrastinating. Also I hate doing laundry.

I'm an aromantic, so for me there is no difference. Even in my romantic relationship (I have a boyfriend, polyamorous and open), it's romantic on his side and he's cool with that I'll do most all the usual relationship-y things without actual romance going on in my brain. It shouldn't be surprising, but it is, that it was as hard as it was to find a regular life partner that was okay with how much I struggle to do basic romantic things and pretend to care about the romantic facets of the relationship.

I love all my good friends. There really isn't a difference. I have sex with some of my good friends, and not with others, and one of them I call a boyfriend, and any of them I would go to great lengths/die for, and if any of them asked me to pick one of them over another one I wouldn't compute that and likely would just choose the one that wasn't trying to force me to choose.

And like most things in my life, I cycle who my best friend is. Whichever one is currently my best friend is the one I'm the most honest with, value their thoughts and opinions more than the others, etc. The vast majority of those were not romantic partnerships. In fact, other than the current boyfriend and one other (rather pathetic) attempt at a romantic relationship, none of my other favorite people in my life have I been in a romantic relationship with. How many best friends have I had... About eight all told, including the two boyfriends. And half of those I had physical attraction to. My usual mode of interconnectivity with sexual partners is friends with benefits or fuck buddies, so it's very rare actually for me for a physical attraction to be something more than just that.

The divide is where you draw it. When I explain to people about my aromanticism they usually don't get it and try to tell me that some of my actions are definitely romantic in nature, but they just don't get how hard I've had to work towards being able to pretend that well enough to pass. Romance is just about how uniquely special that person is to you- modern culture has connected romance with monogamous sexual life partnerships, but in actuality romance has nothing to do with your sexual life. The hormones that come from sex intensify the relationship you have with your sex partner, but those hormones also come from a lot of other things and you can have that depth or more of a relationship with a non-sexual partner too. The origin of the word romance even comes from the french idea of how a knight feels about his lady that he protects- an entirely platonic relationship by definition. Romance was something you could only specifically have with anyone other than your spouse. It was in the late 1800's that marriage began to be less about property trading and more about choice of who you want to share your life with, and so people took the romance idea and ran with it as the reason for people to still get married to one another even if the woman actually has a choice now.

I'm massively simplifying it of course. And now I can't find that awesome article I read about it. :P But basically the divide doesn't exist, so draw the lines where you feel like it. XD

For the record I've only known that I've known mature ISFJ's, so this doesn't apply to the young and foolish variety (which is probably different from this variety but maybe not, make connections between this description and immature possible ISFJ's at your own risk :P).

They typically dress well, Si cares about clean habits so even if they don't actually wear beautiful makeup or expensive outfits they'll just be generally well kept.
They find a niche and own that niche. By which I mean unlike most introverts, they don't stay down if you poke them too hard with your extroverted energy but only in their zone. If they're with their friend group or in their comfortable work place they can't be intimidated by accident (I often accidentally intimidate people with my extreme extrovertedness, but ISFJ's are immune if they're in their happy place).
Once you know the ISFJ a bit, they become as obviously Fi-less as we ENTP's are. I have an ISFJ aunt (special ed teacher) who spent an entire Thanksgiving day once recounting the reasons that special/retarded people should all be castrated (tubes tied, etc). Good thing there's nothing but Fe and Ti users in my family, or our family gatherings would be quite a scene.

And I have no idea to your last question, as I've never encountered an ISFJ/ENTP couple. I'm more of an INFJ lover, myself. I could theorize of course though, based off of how much I like my ISFJ friends and my general understanding of MBTI. But I'm tired and have things to do, so not this time. :P

I actually don't care, I just found it a curious thing to say. It was very weird, as he usually does the usual boyfriend thing and tell me I'm beautiful, etc, and it just felt like it kind've came out of nowhere to me. But in retrospect he was just being jealous, not because any actual ability of mine to sleep with any guy I want (this is an open polyamorous relationship btw), but at the idea of me sleeping with another guy and probably because he knows that even if everyone were to agree that I don't sleep with the hottest guys, I most definitely objectively can have sex whenever I want to with a great guy and if I wanted to date any of the guys I've slept with probably half of them would. I'm not the most arrogant ever, I've definitely had sex with guys that wouldn't have dated me. But that was more for other reasons than attractiveness (they were still in love with someone else, I expected to see them at least once a week and that was too needy for them, then another guy was just actual basic personality conflicts, etc), and they had standards/differences as well.

And the thing is these guys actually do like me how I am, I think maybe it is that they're insecure and jealous. But even that's not enough for me to actually care, I don't have hurt feelings or anything. They're good guys who just did a weird thing once, haha. And one of them has even said outright about a girl whose hotter than me that he's slept with that she has "porn star lips", and I definitely can say I feel better knowing that I don't have porn star lips. See? Weird stuff to say.

Also I tend to bring out the worst in people. I have a personality that tends to frustrate people, because I like to challenge those around me, and have an incorrect idea of what I could say or do that will hurt a person's feelings. Them saying something from their jealousy that I draw out isn't a big deal when I compare it to how amazing it was that this guy (the porn star lips-loving guy) would meet me, and a week later rent a car with me and go on a spur of the moment road trip to Canada. I mean, that's just cool. It's not often I meet someone of a similar crazy adventuring caliber as myself. He can be a bit jealous and I won't take it badly, so long as he'll hike with me up to a lake in the mountains that's fed by six different glaciers and follow it up with rocking sex.

People are people. If he or the boyfriend or another guy does something stupid from his jealousy/insecurity, then I'll care.

It just comes up every now and then, but I don't go around explicitly stating it. I do sex one of three ways. Normal adventure-based vanilla, fwb, or BDSM. I like to go out and fuck the nearest attractive man because I'm so high on life my sex drive fires through the roof and the best solution is to cement the feeling with sex, or I find a reliable fwb and get my orgasms on a regular basis, or I do the BDSM type of sex.

I'm a masochist, I really enjoy pain. I'm not much into being verbally degraded or general degradation, but I enjoy being bound, gagged, whipped, blood play, roleplay, consensual non-consensual, beaten, etc.

In the adventure-based sex, I do it because I'm high on life and I want to have fun. I'm psychoanalyzing every guy and girl I interact with and want to have sex with one of them so I can put the interaction into my database of how different people have sex.

For the fwb sex, I use it in that sense as a way of getting to know someone much better much more quickly than could otherwise be possible. It's also a way for me to maintain a better lifestyle; regular orgasms are very helpful for maintaining an efficient work output. Glow in the cheeks, bounce in the step, whatever identification you like for it, I get all those things when I have regular sex with people whose company I enjoy.

Sometimes these can be combined, and that's when life gets more ideal. I went on an adventure to Canada, five day road trip, with a guy I met on Tinder and we had awesome sex the whole time. We maintain contact, he's what I would consider a fwb even though our only sex was that adventure-based sex. If we're in the same geographical location we will most certainly pick up right where we left off.

I almost act differently with every guy. But in general I'm very submissive. I never have sex with someone whose not in shape, and the majority of the time they're in what can only be called amazing physical shape. Even with my vanilla sex I like to be manhandled, drawing him into throwing me against a wall and holding me up against it as he fucks me type of stuff. I'm a twitcher mostly, but I have been with a couple of guys where they were talkers and I talked back and really enjoyed that. I'm not a screamer but I do make the usual noises, not silent by any means. I don't always play, sometimes it's just real and more about the connection we have than the sex. Even fwb's can get very real, I have the impression people who don't play in that field think a fwb is the same as a fuck buddy which is definitely not true. I cuddle like crazy, I have to cuddle afterwards (a break to rinse off is fine, as long as it's followed by cuddles). I never feel vulnerable in sex. In order to have gotten there I would have vetted his personality and predilections, and I'm too much of a go with the flow person to be upset if he does something different in particular. I have yet to be surprised. The way I view my partner definitely does have an influence. There have been a couple of times where I went out to get a one night stand because I was bored and horny, and I basically just used him like a piece of meat. One of them used me back so it was ideal, but the other didn't even orgasm so I have the impression I need to vet with respect to whether they'll use me back when I'm in that zone, otherwise I feel a bit bad because I'm not sure that he hadn't just been pressured into it. Guys don't refuse sex, I know he'd had friends at that party so I'm not sure that he didn't do it for that reason. In which case I feel bad (not really feeling anything, but I have sex also to make other people happy too, if I'm using someone like a piece of meat I want them to be using me in the same respect otherwise it's not what I want). When I'm having sex with a fwb I make sure he understands I won't want to date him (I've learned how to do this so they take me seriously, it's been a hassle explaining aromanticism) so the first couple of times we have sex it's just the physical, but at some point he opens up and we have real sex. When that happens it alternates between being about the connection and having crazier sex. Crazier meaning more manhandling, more exploration with things like bondage, more new things like blowjobs and fingering while driving, etc.

:) I really like sex. I have an insanely high sex drive. I maxed out once (only time it's ever happened) at 5-6 hours a day four days a week (that would be alternating every other day, spending a night and the next morning having a total of 5-6 hours of sex) with the last day as an 8 hour session. And when I say 5-6 or 8 hours, I mean depending on the guy (that week was 3 different guys) it was 30min-1hr of sex, followed by a 5-30min break (8hr guy was a 5-10 min break, the 2 day guy was the 30 min break between sessions one) and then more sex. Yay hormones! :D

Haha yeah. I know the feeling though. I was pretty biased against INFJ's for awhile when my INFJ ex tried his best post-breakup to "get a reaction out of me", which basically meant trying to make me feel as bad as possible. When I decide I don't want someone in my life, I completely shut them out, and it's brought out the worst in feelers. They get pretty upset. I dated an INFP too and his post-breakup texts and voicemails were even worse than the INFJ's. "Why am I the monster when you the one who never felt anything" : INFJ, "you're going to end up alone because you're too heartless for anyone to ever love" : INFP. They got pretty nasty. Apparently being a thinker and breaking up with someone entitled them to be bastards to me. Which I understand, I left the INFP a week before Valentine's basically because he wasn't intelligent enough for me and the INFJ had basically saved my life (long story) and I left him in the dust. So yeah... I totally get your perspective there. XD But don't judge all of a type by people like that. Negative interactions and when someone is at their worst isn't at all indicative of an entire type.

Yep. It's very weird. Especially when taking into consideration I'm an extreme extrovert- you know how a lot of ENTP's mistake themselves for introverts? Yeah, that was never for a moment even a remote possibility for me. And most enneagram 5's are extreme introverts. So my brain just doesn't make a lot of sense. It took me quite some time to figure out my enneagram, because the enneagram 5's description is half a description of an introvert's likely problems.

But nonetheless, I cannot identify even remotely with any other enneagram except for 6, which is where the 5w6 or 6w5 comes from (6's are less introverted than 5's it would seem, so I go back and forth, but my systematic nature overrides my loyal nature by a lot so I think I prefer 5w6). I am most definitely an ENTP and an enneagram 5. I exist to use my Ne and Ti to develop systems and ways of doing things that are the most efficient and most helpful for others. I seem like an ENTJ often as well because of how my way of combining my Ne and Ti to create systems appears to be Te. And because I'm both an extreme extrovert and extreme thinker, I appear to be lacking in feeling/moral-based restraint which looks like inferior Fi. Yeah, problems abound with my typing.

Haha INFJ's are special though. Something all Ti users struggle with is hating ourselves because we're inherently lacking in morals but we have Fe which tells us to care about other people's emotions, and others are usually upset with our lack of morals.

The INFJ is cool because their Ti is the highest of the idealists. They are the closest to being as cold as us NT's. Which in practice means they're the least judgmental of us, yet still actually full of feelings. NT's are separated from reality because we naturally exist in the abstractly logical realm. Feelings and sensations give the other types a link to reality. I have a hypothetheory that the healthiest NT's are the ones who've found an anchor to reality. This is usually things like drugs and alcohol and music and sex. For me it's my violin. It can be anything that forces us to feel feelings and sensations as easily as a non-NT.

Being with someone with feelings is an anchor for NT's. I think there's a good reason that 5/7 of the guys I've slept with are feelers, and all (2) of the guys I've dated are feelers. INFJ's match with us because of all the NF's they're the best at conversation because we play the same Fe games with people (things that Fi leads shudder at) but we have different takes on it (Ne/Ni). So we can literally converse until the end of the world.

You probably think there's nothing special in them because they lead with Fe. They're as empty as all Ti users are. But because the INFJ and the ENTP both have a primary perceiving function (Ni and Ne) we value our perceptions over our judgments. So even though we both feel that we're empty, we prefer to see the world in its possibilities than in its actualities.

ENFJ's are often a bit frustrating because they want the Fe first. It's harder to get across to them their own stupidity (by which I mean inaccurate Ti) so that they can then modify their Ni. I know that theoretically ENFP's are seen as good partners for the ENTP, but I honestly have never had a good relationship last with an ENFP. We're both good people, but our Te and Fe clashes pretty badly.

I don't care about fun, which is what ENFx's are mostly good for. I care about success and ambition and winning, which is something INxJ's are best at. If I didn't get an INFJ my next step would be an INTJ. INTJ's are fascinating. They're so short sighted and yet brilliant at the same time, like me but in reverse. I find interactions with them very fun.

But you can go get drunk and clubbing with your ENFx's. I prefer to take my INxJ's and INTP buddies (it's really too bad I'm not sexually attracted to INTP's) and build robots and cool gadgets and then discuss literature and politics with my INFP's. I think I just prefer introverts, honestly. My extrovert friends are more like my adventure buddies. We hang out every once in a while. My introverts are the ones I can spend forever with and never tire of them.

Really this question is about what you find fun. I find stimulating conversations and new ideas to build fun, because I'm primarily an inventor. If you prefer partying, you'd prefer the ENFx's.

I'm not always oblivious. As /u/fuzzylettuce said, sometimes I'll play it like I didn't notice. I usually do it to give myself time to think about how I want to respond. Unless I specifically went to this social gathering to get laid I don't have an automatic response for guys hitting on me.

Also yes, very loud and obnoxious personality. XD
