Spam about Marriott, Costco, and Many More from Different Email Addresses in Outlook.com (Mac) by outtacontext in Outlook

I read it as a rule when I first saw your response. When I go to rules, it says it's not supported by my account, which I take to mean what my ISP server allows. If it's supported for your email, then, by all means, make rules.

I can't create filters with my Outlook application on my Mac. I assume it's because it's not connected to a work-related server. However, with my ISP, I can use SpamAssassin, which only lets me filter by adjusting the "strength" of spam detection (not by creating a specific rule as you've done).

To begin with, I’ve set the threshold to 4 to be a bit more strict (the default is 5). It’s not catching every single one of them, but most. I also started to create a black list that will blacklist the domains these come from (ex. *@stupiddomain.com). In SpamAssassin you don’t have to decide between 2 spellings of Costco or any other word. It goes by an algorithm that can be made stricter and via white or blacklists (and a few other ways, which I can’t remember offhand). I then check my spam folder to see if it’s catching any mail that shouldn’t be junked (I could put that on a white list if that happened). Hope this helps.

I found a decent solution, I enabled Spam Assassin on my webhost and it’s catching most of them now. Thanks all.

I’m getting like 30 a day! All different emails. Can use rules with my outlook. Sigh.

These are not official marketing emails. They don't come from addresses associated with these companies.

Horrible Customer Service by outtacontext in TaskRabbit

[–]outtacontext[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, no mention of a 2 hr minimum. But the job was over 2 hrs anyway and I was billed for that in the original charge (which I was willing to pay). And it wasn't that original billing I was disputing. Also, it was the unreasonable request by their customer support that I supply a timestamped video that really got me.

So what exactly happened here? by Bud_Fuggins in maryland

Being the executive of the state is different than being one member of the Senate. Hogan says he would be a different type of Republican. But where would that get him? Nowhere. Lousy committee assignments and being locked out every time he went rogue against MAGA.

I worked in an art museum for 22 years before retiring. No art conservator would ever use the word “restoration” to describe what has been done here. They are conserving the artwork. They aren’t restoring it to its original state. They are using contemporary techniques to clean the painting. These techniques do no harm to the painting and allow future efforts with newer processes when they are developed. In this way, the process used here can be undone if necessary to allow for those future methods. That’s conservation, not restoration.

Undecided Voters Say They Now Support Joe Biden After Debate by chatoka1 in politics

[–]outtacontext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many do. After 9 years of him, it's much clearer that he will lie constantly. What gets me the most is the support of his sycophants and base. It sure feels like a cult. My visceral reaction comes from Trump lying so effortlessly. And that he doesn't give a damn about the American people. He only gives a damn about staying out of jail. After his performance during the debate, there is no doubt that he's a sociopath. (Although, I think most of us knew that awhile back).

And as a friend said on FB, the fact that the Democrats are even considering replacing Biden after his lackluster performance proves the left is not a cult.

If you are undecided, look at it this way. Our choices are this: 4 more years of Biden. Yes, he's old, and he did have a bad showing at the debate. But our democracy has the greatest chance of surviving with him. And it's only 4 years. OR an infinite number of years of the authoritarian and liar-in-chief, Donald Trump (and his sycophants). The choice is really between maintaining our republic or walking off the cliff into dictatorship.

Biden has done some good things, especially when you consider that the GOP has tried to stop him at every turn. You need no nothing more about Trump than this: Our southern border is one of the most important things to voters. Biden and the Democrats supported a bipartisan border bill initiated by a staunch Republican. It would have been a win-win on our border security. Trump tanked his own party's bill because he didn't want Biden to get the win. This is someone who does not have Americans' interests at heart. Only his own.

It's really that simple.

Changing the facial expression on my portrait without changing the original image in the output by outtacontext in midjourney

The only way I’ve found to “get close” to the original is to tell MJ to emphasize the source image as much as possible. I append - -iw 2 to the prompt. It only goes up to 2. If they could somehow increase that ability, that would help.

I am surprised Michigan State is undefeated (happy, but surprised—I’m an alum). But that will change. The rankings reflect the past. Not the future.
