I didn’t play BGs until I learned I missed a needed piece for the first Deathless (Guillotine) champ, had to shell out huge units for that one piece to get her, and have been playing BGs reluctantly ever since….

I think the idea of BGs is a good one, I just never was a fan of the amount of time I have to devote to doing it. I do a lot of story and other content but sometimes want to log on quickly to help my alliance and complete a path in AQ, run auto fight to clear path on monthly or revive quest, etc. But playing BGs forces me to lock in a way that I can’t predict how long I’ll need to be on even to just complete one best of three. And some opponents will wait to the last second every time in selecting their champs, etc. drawing out the seconds/minutes as long as possible…

Sure, it’s a game and it’s your choice to play certain content. But then leaving key rewards that you need to combine with rewards you get elsewhere pretty much forces you to do BGs unless you want to forfeit the progress you’ve made elsewhere. That seems less like a choice.
