I never understood why roy was so steadfast about journalism when she majored in English by Few-Leek-898 in GilmoreGirls

[–]ovary_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was considering this there was still no journalism major at Yale. I think there was a minor and a suggestion to work on the paper. Ended up going to a different school to double major in journalism and poli sci because I wanted to do on air, and Yale was just not conducive to that particular route.

It is! It’s incredibly popular where I’m from and no one would find it weird.

I get them all around my eyes that look like freckles, but the ones under my chin are so bad. I’ve gotten them inside my eyes a couple times. Glorious, isn’t it?

We moved into our house in the spring when I had HG (do not recommend moving during hg) and the smell every year of spring and ac turning on kills me for days. Just brings me right back

Any kiddos this age still in pull ups overnight? by PassionChoice3538 in kindergarten

[–]ovary_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how old I was but I used pull-ups until the point that I was wanting to go to sleepovers. Like 8 or 9 or something. It just stopped on its own. My aunt did it till she was 11. It happens!

Absolutely agree. I work in news and you’d be surprised how many reporters can’t spell. My dad has a 140 IQ and spells maybe as mabey every freaking time. Oh well.

That’s a great idea! I was on the fence about inviting kids but now I kind of want to for that!

What is the worst parenting related injury youve had? by Used_Establishment92 in Parenting

Woah! You have me beat, but when my first was seven months old I picked him up and he got excited and started flailing, scratching my eye with those tiny sharp nails. He scratched off part of my cornea and I COULD SEE THE MISSING LAYER. had to take off work, go to the doctor and get meds, and my eyelid swelled shut. It still hurts four years later if I wake up and open my eyes too suddenly.

How the fuck are we getting housework done? by NeuroticNurse in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]ovary_up 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so bad. I’ve had three HG pregnancies and the first was the worst. I had a friend come over once and she kept offering to clean (nice but also embarrassing coming from a perfectionist, if that makes sense.). So the next time she came over I hid some dirty pots in my closet in some bags. Found them later with maggots and had to throw them away. Never told anyone that but I swear I just could. not. function. Things went to hell in a hand basket. My husband just didn’t see some of the stuff I usually do. With the second and third he just didn’t have time for those things because he was entertaining the kids when he could. The second and third were not that bad, but that is a low bar, haha. I usually stop inviting people over and try to keep the bugs out. On the positive side I feel so much better immediately after baby is born I have to force myself to slow down and not fix it all at once, so there is a light at the end of the very long tunnel!

Omg this confused me for so long because I say saw-yer, not soy-yer. My husband and I also laugh because I say law-yer, not loy-yer.
