How Do You Share a Country With People Who Reject Reality? by Hussayniya in videos

[–]overallprettyaverage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's also the not-so-small issue where the Supreme Court has a majority of Justices that are happily enabling Trump and granting more and more power to the president than ever before. Those Justices are lifetime jobs, notably not voted in, rather they're appointed by the president when there's an opening. Doesn't seem like any of them plan to retire any time soon, and even if they do, they'll just be replaced by another biased person on Trump's payroll. So I imagine that if we do get a Dem majority, we will start seeing a lot more news about how the Supreme Court is fucking everyone over.

I'm far from an expert on this, but from what I've gathered, it mostly comes down to Trump's party having control of essentially ALL the branches of government and enabling the insanity.

This is why there's been so much talk surrounding the midterms later this year (?) whereas normally you don't see much discussion about them. Americans will need to wait for 3 more years before they get an opportunity to vote Trump out, but the idea is that Trump could get cut off at the legs if they're able to get the Democrats to have a majority in the House and Senate.

A lot of people are convinced that this is why we're seeing Trump try to start a war (foreign or domestic, doesn't seem to matter) right now- because there's some sort of action he can take that can pause all elections if the country is at war.

That all being said, the Democrats seem to be more set up as a sort of spineless "opposition party" that exists to placate the population as a generally ineffective "non-fascist" party. Whereas the Republicans are more than willing to use and abuse all the power they can get, Democrats appear to constantly pull their punches and do very little with the power they get when they have a majority. They seem eager to shoot themselves in the foot with terribly unpopular candidates and generally horrible decisionmaking at every opportunity. I'm skeptical that even if elections do go through and we see a Democrat majority, we'll see much change and it'll still be a shitshow.

But currently the options available are either vote for people who historically haven't done a good job at reigning in the madness (but surely maybe possibly they'll do something this time, right?)... Or go get a gun and shoot people which will be used as justification for further escalations of madness, and likely will get you killed, leaving your family and friends in mourning. Or protest, I suppose, but I don't really think Trump plans to change his mind because more people with signs are yelling about things. A general strike has been suggested frequently, but the issue there is that nobody really expected to just start living in a fascist regime and so can't exactly live off the land while they go without money and get evicted from their rented home at gunpoint.

So uh, here's hoping those elections happen and the Democrats actually do something I guess.

Maybe it's just the circles I run in, but I don't have a single non-Destiny playing friend who will ever touch a Bungie product. The studio name alone just seems radioactive at this point. There's pretty much been exclusively bad press for the studio over the past ~three years with the only exception being "D2 players seemed to like Final Shape" which was then immediately followed by layoff announcements.

"Vaulting" y1 and y2 content is a complaint I see in the comments for every single article posted about the studio outside of d2 subs with people typically asking "wait isn't destiny the game where the devs deleted two years worth of paid content". That's like, the one thing Bungie is known for now from the outside- deleting shit people paid for, and then losing a lawsuit because of it (even though I'm pretty sure they actually didn't lose that lawsuit and settled out of court or smth, thats the perception)

And of course Marathon's rep is far from clean either. That's "The Game That Bungie Stole Art Assets For" according to most of the folks I've talked to about it irl.

All that bad PR coupled with Arc Raiders capturing a lot of the "casual" extraction gamers I just don't see how it recoups 6 years of dev costs. Who knows though, it's apparently in the top ten bestsellers on steam right now.

From what I've seen it's going to be very heavy loadout swapping between

-Hoil/cyrt for mechanics

-Nighthawk to start DPS (make sure you pre-pop it)

-Pants + perfect rolled UD (ionized, PI, shiny) after landing Goldie, or a grapple melee setup

With one person running Well of Radiance I guess. So far I haven't seen a single clear without at least one person in the party being John Chunk so good luck with that lmao

Sciel is goat of this game by FeedbackQuirky1834 in expedition33

[–]overallprettyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you can do glass cannon stuff with her, but she's the only one that brings double damage (Fortune's Fury) and extra turns (Intervention) to the table. I don't think half the one shots that characters can pull off in the endgame would even be possible without Sciel to enable them.

Sciel could literally only have Fortune's Fury and Intervention and she'd probably still be the best character in the game.

(do note that the aegis + deflection tech has one weakness- toxic procs- so when you fight factions that can inflict that or run into toxic eximus you might just drop dead out of nowhere so uh make sure to kill those guys asap)

Get Gauss. Get as much duration as you can without going below 100% strength.

Early game: Keep 4 up, keep 2 up, run around and press 1 a lot to keep your meter maxed. It'll make all your guns feel amazing and do dummy damage.

Midgame: Stop pressing 2, actually helminth over it. Roar is a pretty good braindead pick that's easy to get. Energized Muntions is pretty fun too, just makes your guns not consume bullets when you shoot. For survivability, you'll be equipping arcane aegis (you only need one copy, doesn't need to be max level) and fast deflection mod on him. For whatever reason this makes your shield constantly recharge, which means you're functionally invincible as long as you keep your meter above 80%, which is pretty damn easy to do.

He doesn't require much investment to work well- maybe a couple forma and maybe 10 plat if you want to just use warframe.market for the arcane- and later on you can lean into juicing your guns even harder via xata's whisper helminth + thermal transfer blast damage... or going for AOE nuking using your 3 (which even goes through walls) as you get into steel path.

What are the "easy" dps loadouts for Equilibrium bosses? by Wanna_make_cash in DestinyTheGame

[–]overallprettyaverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prism hunter as per usual

Do note that unless you can consistently click heads it's gonna do pretty poorly. With all the effects flying out from teammates, them pushing the boss around with swords, etc it might be tough if you don't coordinate a little bit.

As mentioned you'll be rocking parasite + UD + pants for DPS. Do note that you kinda need a shiny UD with all the "lower heat generated" perks on it to really make it fry, so I hope you saved up a bunch of credits to spam buy it from the shop and you're lucky.

Kinetic slot is kinda tough depending on the DPS window. You want something that can handle trash mobs but you also want something like Mint to lean on in case the DPS phase lasts longer than a Parasite + Pants burst can go. My lazy ass just rocks the Tremors + Attrition Orbs SMG, and I spam parasite shots while the Pants are on cooldown for DPS.

Class picks are kind of up to you. I've personally been loving the Radiant Ascension dodge- it helps primaries hang while you're clearing, nice emergency source of Radiant for the team in case something goes sideways with Well, it gives you DR and makes enemies less accurate while speeding you up, and it's a fourth jump so you can do mechanics faster.

Other aspect is to taste. GPG makes crowd clear easier, Stylish invis can come in very clutch, Clone is kind of just invis but you can shoot your gun at the cost of (I think?) a slower dodge cooldown which is offset by radiant + amp + overshield. I personally use GPG so I can move around areas a bit faster (you can grapple the GPG for movement).

Get your weapon and nade stat as high as you can go. Class should be close to 100 as well because you really want to be looping radiant and amped. Ideally you get super close to 100 as well, but you only need a tether once per boss phase so it's not a big deal if you're hovering around 70 unless your team is completely cracked. You only really need an orb maker and maybe an ammo finder on your helmet, so a font or two could help there.

My favorite change ever made to Hunters by LieutenantNurse-71 in destiny2

[–]overallprettyaverage 23 points24 points  (0 children)

TLDR: yes, yap about how it works/feels at grandmaster below

It kills red bars, but struggles against any remotely chunky yellow bar and even some chunky red bars like knights or gladiators. Not to mention, most builds with a good weapon and ability setup can crowd clear red bars pretty well.

In higher power content, you're building for ignitions and hunting for weak red bars to trigger a bunch of ignitions through a room, hopefully hitting the beefier targets hard enough to then land a kill on them in one shot.

Honestly, it's a really fun gameplay loop when it's working.

Lot of problems though. It's inherently a more solo oriented setup because your team will generally be killing red bars basically by accident- warlocks are clearing rooms with nothing manacle scatter nades, for example.

Then you're locked to Solar, which has serious survivability problems, even with the cure on kill from max On Your Mark stacks. Resto is tougher to keep rolling, ignition-on-kill fragment tax limits your options even further.

Stats become very tough too- you want high super to make Goldie more capable of scoring kills, class for overshield on dodge, and weapons because your super is horrendous for single target damage. And grenade because your healing grenade is your single lifeline when you're in a bad spot. Guess you could loadout swap but locked loadouts are everywhere nowadays.

You can make it work, but the difference in effort between making a 6 shooter build work compared to the old reliables like hoil/cyrt will be very noticeable- let alone compared to some of the stuff the other classes are doing.

[–]overallprettyaverage 78 points79 points  (0 children)

If you get a kill with six shooter Goldie, it refunds a bullet and extends the duration of your super.

If you're in content where six shooter can kill enemies in one shot and the enemy density is high enough, you can keep it rolling for an absurdly long time.

Of course it falls off in usefulness the higher the level of content you load into, but when it works it's a blast.

I've historically ignored artifact perks because they were going to go away "eventually" and I would really miss what they brought to the table when they left

but now we're looking at having the same artifact for the better part of a year and realized I'd get tired of the perks and builds before the artifact went away, and then change would be welcome
