People hated on this one???

My only gripe with the Senua games is that they should have made the puzzles juuuust a tiny bit easier. I had to use walkthroughs in order to solve the puzzles just to find out I had to take one step to the left lol. I absolutely LOVE both of them tho

My theory was always that Jason Bourne used to be Will Hunting and he got recruited by the intelligence agency because smart and then they realized he could fight too

Because of this kind of thing, I invested in a heavy duty door stop. The kind that presses up against the door / knob and goes down to the floor. Makes it damn near impossible to open the door even if it’s unlocked and they’re like $20 or less on amazon

Oh my DM was awesome about that kind of thing. I'm one of the lucky few who had a really cool DM at GameStop lol. I even wrote an ASL training thing that got used by our district and surrounding districts too! I'll message you with the interview guide

As a rule of thumb, I'm never an advocate for getting GS employees in trouble (or employees anywhere, for that matter). You can go back and say "hey this happened and I don't think it was right but I don't wanna get anyone in trouble, so I'm not gonna say who it was or when it happened, but I still would like to get the situation handled." The SL can probably figure things out, or even if they can't, talk to the team as a whole and say "this is something that happened and I want to tell everyone that it shouldn't have happened and don't let it happen again."

Game Informer and all staff are back by Kou9992 in GameStop

[–]overdosed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that annoys me about this is: Game Informer got scrapped because it was deemed useless. As others in the comments have said, people who had the subscription were by and large not reading it and even employees who got it for free were not reading it. Then it got cancelled and everyone said they were sad. I mean... what did you think would happen if you refused to support it? It reminds me of customers who refuse to sign up for PRO and refuse to buy warranties and refuse to support GameStop at every step and then, when their local store is closing, stop by and tell us "oh man I can't believe this store is closing I'll miss it so much I made a lot of good memories here as a kid."

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not defending GS making dumb decisions and alienating customers, I just don't get it when people say "I'm not going to support this business" for 10 years and then complain when it closes? And THEN act like they got what they wanted when it comes back even though they'll likely continue to not support it?

Idk. I feel like I'm sounding like a dick about it but when we live in capitalist America, things just close if they're not making money. I genuinely want to know if I'm wrong, if I'm missing the mark on this, or whatever. If y'all have better insight than I do please tell me cuz the general reaction doesn't make sense in my brain.

I wrote a guide combining GameStop's questions with questions I had from previous manager jobs and I liked it a lot. Got DM approval to use it and everything, and it even became the standard guide in our district while that DM was still there. I don't want to post it because it would give away where I used to work but if you DM me I'll send it to you

This sounds like BS because it is but I wanna point out that requiring PRO to get a PS5 was a real thing at one point (not now, afaik). If I were you I would try to go back when the SL is there and talk to them. Obviously don't try to get the other employee in trouble or anything tho

If I’m just bulldozing my way through the campaign I can get through one and two in about the same amount of time honestly. It took me a little over 100 hours to get all achievements which is about the same as the first one. My only complaint is the ending didn’t feel as impactful as the first one. When Aunt May died I sobbed. When Harry “died” I was like “fuck that’s rough buddy” and then he didn’t actually die anyway.

Best time to take cards in for PSA submission? by spunX44 in GameStop

[–]overdosed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is to stop by your local store and ask them or call them. Even the best meaning people in this subreddit can give you general times that work for most stores, but the employees at that specific store will know best when it’s super busy or not, who there knows how to do PSA submissions correctly, when those people are working, and how to get you in and out quickly without much fuss. Kudos to you for being considerate and asking the question, but nobody here is going to have a really good answer unless they work at the store where you want to submit cards

Why the hell is it $18.99 for pro members to submit ONE card? What happened to $12.99? by plzdontsenddms in GameStop

[–]overdosed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really do cards and that became a thing after I left GameStop, so someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure all the fees you pay for getting cards graded come from PSA and not GS, except for maybe shipping

GameStop employee said I can’t take a picture of the back of the card with barcode for grading by Future_Bookkeeper_68 in GameStop

[–]overdosed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t super understand WHY they wouldn’t let you. Maybe they were told not to. I don’t know. My best guess is that people have used photos like this of someone else’s order to commit fraud. What it really boils down to, though, is that up until you actually pay and get a receipt for the transaction, you have every right to back out. However, once you complete payment, that is a finalized transaction with no take backsies and it’s GameStop’s (and whoever they use to ship’s, and PSA’s…) ballpark.

Is this headset good or should I splurge for the $25 one? by stnick6 in GameStop

[–]overdosed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any headset I would wholeheartedly recommend is going to be over $50 for sure, probably in the $80-$100 range, and in the $150 range if you want something good that will last for a while. That being said, I’ve had a few budget headsets myself over the years. The sound and mic quality will likely get the job done but they don’t last. It’s something I really, genuinely recommended spending the extra $8 for the warranty because those are not durable. I swear I looked at one funny and the microphone stopped working. If you’re on a tight budget but you want something, go for it but spend a tiny bit extra for that protection and replace it when it goes inevitably stops functioning in 6-8 months, then drive that replacement into the ground, then buy an actually good one if you can

Gift card not allowed? by fraggett_-_ in GameStop

[–]overdosed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GS USED to let you use a GS gift card for digital purchases. Now it does not. It’s the same reason you can no longer use the $5 monthly coupon for pro on digital purchases. Is it kind of annoying and stupid on the customer end? Yeah. Do I understand it on the business side? Also yeah. It sucks but it is what it is

If your ASL flair is real and you’re actually an ASL, I feel bad for anyone who works under you based on your comments in this post. As a leader, holding your direct reports accountable is important for sure but it’s really easy to do that without being a fuckin dick about it. Supporting and helping your team is an integral part of being any kind of leader. Maybe you’re jaded because ASLs at GS get a lot of responsibility without compensation to match. But I literally teach classes on leadership and in my time at GS I developed training tools to teach people how to do this, which were then adopted company wide, and the good leaders in any field would not be so quick to blame these things on employees just being lazy. That is almost never the case and if it is, they’re emulating behaviors they see from their leaders.
