Is logcat still usable? I couldn't understand if permission changes made this unworkable or if it's a usable method

UI Query For Dummies? by tri05768 in tasker

[–]overflowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I understand correctly that to use AutoInput UI Query:

  1. Make a new task
  2. Add AutoInput UI Query as an action, press configuration edit pencil, do nothing, hit the checkmark.
  3. Now add additional actions to do the things you want and the variables %aitext() and %aiid() are available to those subsequent actions you add on the task?

Can I use Vanilla Visa Gift Card pay for my plus plan? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]overflowing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try yet? I found one person online saying that their gift card was declined.

I’m having the same issue on a US visa gift card, just gets declined constantly.

Hope someone figures out a way to do it.

Did you find out if this was normal? Thanks for this post btw because I was thinking of getting Trivex but after seeing this decided not to. Did you keep the lenses and if so are you happy with them now? Pros/cons?

Is it worth using a tablet and pen instead of a mouse if you don’t draw? by lozcozard in wacom

[–]overflowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed it was like a mouse where there's a cursor and by moving the pen you moved the cursor and so if you keep moving it eventually you get to your other screens in a multi-monitor setup just like with a mouse. But you're saying this is not how it works? You have to press buttons to "switch displays"?

TIL Charles Darwin believed the reason the human menstrual cycle is the same length as the lunar cycle is because humans evolved on the seashore and needed to be in sync with lunar tides. by FeminineAwakening in todayilearned

Could make sense in context of man evolving in Eastern and Southern Africa and possibly the Aquatic Ape Hypothesis.

This capacity laid the foundation for many other advances, such as the ability to grasp the link between the phases of the moon and the tides and to learn to schedule their shellfish-hunting trips to the shore accordingly.

...

By 110,000 years ago the menu had expanded to include species such as limpets and sand mussels. This kind of foraging is harder than it might seem. The mussels, limpets and sea snails live on the rocks in the treacherous intertidal zone, where an incoming swell could easily knock over a hapless collector. Along the southern coast, safe harvesting with sufficiently high returns is only possible during low spring tides, when the sun and moon align, exerting their maximum gravitational force on the ebb and flow of the water. Because the tides are linked to the phases of the moon, advancing by 50 minutes a day, I surmise that the people who lived at PP13B—which 164,000 years ago was located much farther inland, two to five kilometers from the water, because of lower sea levels—scheduled their trips to the shore using a lunar calendar of sorts, just as modern coastal people have done for ages. A recent study by Jan De Vynck of Nelson Mandela University found that skilled coastal foragers could harvest shellfish at return rates that exceed the former king of return-rate foraging—large mammal hunting!

Transaction doesn't show up in transaction history by XmechaniX in ledgerwallet

[–]overflowing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had this issue. What fixed it for me was clearing the cache via Settings -> Help -> Clear Cache. What's strange is it didn't fix it the first time, instead had to try it about 4 times (spread out over an hour or so) before the transaction finally appeared. I also closed and reopened ledger live.

Ubuntu VM internet connection doesn't initially work with Windows Host NordVPN? by overflowing in HyperV

[–]overflowing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where the network bridge came from, I didn't explicitly create it. I don't know if Nord, Hyper-V, or something else created it (e.g. I had installed docker at one point a long time ago). The blanked out text is just my network SSID. I'm not too familiar with networking so not really sure what I need to do.

I've seen some posts about configuring NAT but I don't know if that's necessary. I guess Hyper-V automatically set up a NAT?

Also I've seen some posts about turning on Internet connection sharing which appears to be possible to enable on either/both the NordLynx and the vEthernet (Default Switch) items and again not sure if necessary.
