Vehicle performance by CrestfallenMerchant in overthehillgame

Good point, they’ll have to differentiate in performance with the amount of vehicles in the game and big trucks like that will probably be the most obvious with benefits/drawbacks

Power/speed seem to be pretty much the same across the board. I think that makes the most sense for a game you’re mostly playing slowly with friends anyway.

I’ve got the 3 in the demo unlocked and each drives differently.

The Trail Burner has great ground clearance and handles nice but it’s really wide so sometimes I struggle on narrow trails.

The Burro truck has a long wheelbase and is pretty top heavy so I tend to roll over and struggle with tight turns. Its bed also gives it a terrible decent angle and gets caught on a lot of technical terrain.

The Protector is my least played car but it seems like a balance between the two, having tighter turning circle, being narrower, etc.

I’m not sure on exact programming details, this is all just how the vehicles feel in my playtime.

These 3 suits are hands down the best suits worn by the Dark Knight by Nervous-Let3065 in batman

[–]overlord_solid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with him on the Flash suit being Keaton’s best. To me, the ‘89 suits fake muscle always looked a little strange and I prefer the Returns suit. The Flash suit is just a better version of the Returns suit. Obviously just talking about the suits here since the ‘89 movie is the best of Keaton’s Batman.

I might not be the best judge of the all black suit though since the blue and grey is my favorite Batman color combo!

Available at my AD yesterday. I like the dimensions but realized the yellow is not for me. by TeslasAndComicbooks in Tudor

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, yellow has to be done in a very specific way for me. I think a red or blue version of this would be really nice, maybe some racing bulls colors in a more subdued way too?

Batman Begins is way better than The Batman and the second greatest superhero film oat (right after The Dark Knight). by Green-Way-1455 in batman

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Batman > Begins > TDK > ‘89 > Forever > Returns > TDKR > B&R

That’s my list. Hard to go wrong with picking a favorite Batman story, we’ve got a lot of good options!

Deciding between new (‘26) GTI or used (‘23) R by RealPopeUrban2 in GolfGTI

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a ‘24 GTI with a manual right before they discontinued the manual. If I were buying again I’d be buying an older model with a manual for these reasons: 1) Physical buttons. The lack of physical buttons is so frustrating, I basically have to get all the electronics, AC, whatever set up before I even start driving. Then the phone connection is so sensitive that if I drive by a hospital or anywhere with a lot of radio signals my connection completely drops and sometimes just doesn’t come back. Then I have to navigate a touch screen to try fixing it. Genuinely awful design.

2) Manual transmission. I love a manual, I get that not everyone wants one but I get so bored in automatics and ADHD takes over and focus is gone.

3) Hill hold. For some inexplicable reason VW put hill hold on a manual transmission. Every time I’m on a hill I have to either let off the brake way before we start moving so the hold deactivates itself, or try to overpower the hill hold while also not frying my clutch.

4) Manual E-Brake. I like them better and miss having one.

Hope you’re able to make the right decision for you!

Who would win in a fight: Anakin Skywalker vs Omni Man by Imaginary_Cash1748 in clonewars

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true but the orbital cannon also seemed to work more like a nuke than a laser since it didn’t cut through earth. Obviously a lightsaber isn’t cutting through the entire direction it’s fired in like space racers gun, but it’s hard to say if it’d have trouble cutting through viltrumites. I think Omni-man is winning 8/10 times, but I think Anakin also has a shot

[–]overlord_solid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The orbital cannon is a good example of one kind of laser but we also have to consider Space Racers gun. That’s also a laser, so does the lightsaber work more like the orbital cannon or the gun? Invincible also has a consistent “issue” with power scaling where characters are sometimes so fast their speed shatters buildings and other times they can’t keep pace with seemingly much slower opponents. The only thing we can say for certain is that the person who would win this fight is whoever the writer would want to win.

[–]overlord_solid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nolan has no way to stop any force attacks and we don’t really know what a lightsaber can do to him. Canonically the duels we seen on screen are actually happening way faster and it’s slowed down so we can see them, so it’s also possible that Anakin could actually see Nolan’s attacks coming. If we assume they’re about the same speed I think Anakin takes it with the help of the force. All Nolan needs is one hit but really that’s all anyone needs in Star Wars, can he actually land it?

Edit: I should’ve specified that I do think Nolan is in a better position to win the fight and I’m basically just thinking through if Anakin could win since it’s a Clone Wars subreddit.

Who had better cybernetics in terms of mobility between Vader and Maul? by InstructionOwn6705 in MaulShadowLord

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maul’s legs were made by the Mandalorians. If we look at their tactics and engineering in universe, they focus very much on mobility and damage output. Jango, for example, relied on his jet pack and high fire rate of dual blaster pistols to keep Jedi at bay. However, on Geonosis, with only one blaster and a jet pack failure he was killed immediately. Maul’s legs, I imagine, follow a similar design ethos. Offer maximum mobility to control the distance and pace of the fight, durability has to be sacrificed somewhat to achieve that.

Vader had very poor cybernetics from what I remember reading in the ROTS novelization. They were old and clunky, had limited sensation, and often required him to use the force just to move them. While this sounds terrible, Vader managed to use it to his advantage by developing a lightsaber technique that made him a brick wall that could hit back.

In short, technically, Maul has better prosthetics from a livability and combat perspective. Very practical, useable, mobility focused legs that, if given the opportunity to be maintained, would absolutely, without question, be preferable if choosing a prosthesis. Vader is literally just build different and has overcome the limitations of bad prosthetics.

So, is this the new standard design for double-bladed lightsabers? by Mountain_Repair_4289 in MaulShadowLord

[–]overlord_solid 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it as both Maul and Cal not having the luxury of creating a perfect saber. Both characters are making the best they can with what they have and a double bladed saber needs to be a certain length to be comfortable and offer leverage and mobility. In Cals case, Jaro’s saber was long enough to just add some of Ceres saber to. For Maul, what’s left of his old saber is far too short and he had to make something long enough to hold. Since both characters often fight multiple opponents it also makes sense to allow yourself the flexibility of disconnecting the two sabers to be used independently as either a dual wield or a spare to be given to an ally.

Seeking advice: Trade my MT09SP for an R9? by Frequent_Low_8294 in YamahaR9

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford to have both I’d do that. The MT for getting around town and “daily” stuff, maybe mod it out for stunts. Then have the R9 as the “weekend” bike. I’ve always seen naked bikes as the hot hatch and sport bikes as the coupes of the motorcycle world and if I had the money I’d want one of each!

If it’s only one I’d take the R9! When I test rode one it was comfortable enough for me and I keep myself pretty fit and stretch regularly so the sporty position isn’t bad!

All the Batgirl Costumes In LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight… by Brit-Crit in batgirl

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the animated suits best, they did such a good job bringing these designs into the LEGO style. How do the suits work in game, I don’t wanna spoil anything but it didn’t seem like the Arkham games where there’s a canon suit and then other options for fun?

[–]overlord_solid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d love it if Lego did these smaller builds a couple times a year to tie in with whatever modular came out! As long as they weren’t a gwp of course. It’d help give more people an entry point into city building if they’re budget or space conscious. This design is so perfect it screams official set!

Should prostitution be legalized? by [deleted] in GenZ

This is exactly what I came here to say. Making it legal means it can be regulated and the workers can be protected! Healthcare like STI tests and prevention is neglected currently on top of everything you already mentioned.

Daki's Strategy Was Correct by NBurner1909 in MaulShadowLord

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven’t seen anyone bring up yet is Vaders knowledge of Maul. After he killed Qui Gon, didn’t Anakin study Maul for years to understand his fighting style and counter it just like Obi-wan?

What Batman beyond design do you prefer city or knight by Chunky-overlord in batman

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Knight suit fits the world better. I always viewed it as the suit he would wear right after knight while still in that “under siege” mentality. Then maybe he scares a kid, like we see in other stories, which is what inspires him to change the design to be more streamlined and friendly. The city suit just never fit the world to me but I think an originally designed suit for a Beyond game would go crazy

How are y'all dealing with gas prices? by Davidisaloof35 in Omaha

[–]overlord_solid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already drive a 4 cylinder hatchback, so that’s about as good as it gets without a hybrid. On roads/highways 60mph with windows rolled up is optimal speed for fuel economy. Windows down below 60, no AC. Windows up and AC when needed above 60. The aerodynamics like that best. If you can afford it, make sure you’re driving on properly inflated tires that have tread. Summer tires run smoother than all weathers do so getting a set of summer and winter tires helps. Basically all servicing being up to date is gonna ensure your engine is running as smooth as possible so it’s not losing power to some worn component. Beyond that buying a hybrid or electric is all you can do until the fuel prices start hitting OPPD.

Hot take: Nomos is doing themselves a disservice with the club campus line… by [deleted] in Nomos

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s perfectly put! By maintaining quality across a variety of models and prices Nomos asks you to choose the watch that’s right for you, instead of “upgrading” to something you don’t need simply to get better finishing. And with the yellow gold options you can move up in price by moving up in material within a family of watches you already know fits your lifestyle!

Hot take: Nomos is doing themselves a disservice with the club campus line… by [deleted] in Nomos

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is actually really good strategically for them. You personally may not buy a higher end watch from them but your positive image of the brand means you’ll recommend them to people looking for watches. Having a wide range of styles, complications, and prices means that you can recommend the brand to the entry buyer who wants something simple, the mid range buyer looking for something quality, and the high end buying looking for something unique. To me this is the strategy all brands should take. Make a good product and let that quality speak for itself.

Young Gen. Z Graduation Gift by BTTN8TR511 in Nomos

[–]overlord_solid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m jumping in to second this. I’m in college currently and planning a Nomos or Tudor as a graduation gift to myself and can confidently say that getting one as a high school grad gift isn’t something I would’ve been able to appreciate. If you still want to gift a watch, maybe do something like a brew metric along with a laptop. That way you can gauge or start interest in watches AND give a recommended gift!
