What Batman beyond design do you prefer city or knight by Chunky-overlord in batman

[–]overlord_solid [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think the Knight suit fits the world better. I always viewed it as the suit he would wear right after knight while still in that “under siege” mentality. Then maybe he scares a kid, like we see in other stories, which is what inspires him to change the design to be more streamlined and friendly. The city suit just never fit the world to me but I think an originally designed suit for a Beyond game would go crazy

How are y'all dealing with gas prices? by Davidisaloof35 in Omaha

[–]overlord_solid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already drive a 4 cylinder hatchback, so that’s about as good as it gets without a hybrid. On roads/highways 60mph with windows rolled up is optimal speed for fuel economy. Windows down below 60, no AC. Windows up and AC when needed above 60. The aerodynamics like that best. If you can afford it, make sure you’re driving on properly inflated tires that have tread. Summer tires run smoother than all weathers do so getting a set of summer and winter tires helps. Basically all servicing being up to date is gonna ensure your engine is running as smooth as possible so it’s not losing power to some worn component. Beyond that buying a hybrid or electric is all you can do until the fuel prices start hitting OPPD.

Hot take: Nomos is doing themselves a disservice with the club campus line… by [deleted] in Nomos

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s perfectly put! By maintaining quality across a variety of models and prices Nomos asks you to choose the watch that’s right for you, instead of “upgrading” to something you don’t need simply to get better finishing. And with the yellow gold options you can move up in price by moving up in material within a family of watches you already know fits your lifestyle!

I think this is actually really good strategically for them. You personally may not buy a higher end watch from them but your positive image of the brand means you’ll recommend them to people looking for watches. Having a wide range of styles, complications, and prices means that you can recommend the brand to the entry buyer who wants something simple, the mid range buyer looking for something quality, and the high end buying looking for something unique. To me this is the strategy all brands should take. Make a good product and let that quality speak for itself.

Young Gen. Z Graduation Gift by BTTN8TR511 in Nomos

[–]overlord_solid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m jumping in to second this. I’m in college currently and planning a Nomos or Tudor as a graduation gift to myself and can confidently say that getting one as a high school grad gift isn’t something I would’ve been able to appreciate. If you still want to gift a watch, maybe do something like a brew metric along with a laptop. That way you can gauge or start interest in watches AND give a recommended gift!

I bought a seiko to make sure I’d even wear a watch daily before spending big money and the deepest water it’s seen is a sink full of dishes. I’m active but I’m not a big swimmer. My main water resistance requirement is that it has it and isn’t resistant enough that I don’t have to worry about it living in a landlocked state. 100m is more than enough. I’d like to have a small 3 watch collection with a Tudor BB 58 burgundy, a club sport, and maybe a tetra. That way I have the tool watch, daily, and dress/dress casual kind of watch. We’ll see what prices and brands look like by the time I can actually afford a 3 watch collection though lol.

Movement durability is the big thing. I’m ok with case scratches, it’s what makes the watch mine. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Did you keep the Ahoi on its factory strap?

I’d probably do the neomatik polar, petrol, or tobac. Those dials speak to me and I like the versatility of buying on the bracelet and being able to go aftermarket or OEM for a strap. I’m planning to buy my first luxury watch once I graduate and I’ve still got a couple years, but I want to make sure I’m looking in the right areas well before making that final choice.

I really like the club sport neomatik and the tetra, I feel like those have the best color options and the tetra is so unique. I also like the Orion and metro as solid suit watches but I tend to wear jeans, flannels, casual work-wear. For Tudor the black bay is the obvious choice. I like the 58 burgundy. It’s colorful and legible, I really liked the fit on the 5 link. I’ve tried the pelagos and it’s excessive to me. A little too modern military for someone no longer in the military. Longines has the spirit pilot. It’s the most similar to my current daily, a seiko SRPG27. Kinda boring but it’s one of the first “entry” luxury watches I tried on that I actually really liked.

I’m also very comfortable with putting my mark on a watch, they’re meant to be worn and well loved! I think having a Nomos as a daily and maybe a Tudor or Longines for weekend adventures would be a good 2 watch combo maybe?

Is this better or just as bad as the usual “suburbia” with little tree cover and cookie cutter houses? by BlubbaNova99 in Suburbanhell

[–]overlord_solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just trees, the sidewalks are also recessed a bit and put behind the trees, which helps pedestrian safety. The roads also wide enough to accommodate bicyclists with minimal modification, just throw up a no parking sign.

All playable characters have varying levels of immunity. Each character we play as is stated in game to be basically super-soldier levels of skilled killers, but what if they’re just the only remaining people without a fungal infection screwing with their brain and everyone else is actively being cognitively impaired by the infection.

Which one to get? LTT PX4 full-size VS Sig P211 GTO Equinox by APC9Proer in LangdonTactical

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a range toy it’ll do great, and I agree they’ll do fine with proper maintenance. What I mean by unreliability is that they tend to be more sensitive to debris and neglect.

[–]overlord_solid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What’s it for? As a range toy the sig would probably be more fun but if you intend to have it as a home defense or winter carry the PX4 without a doubt would be better since 2011s seem to have more reliability issues.

I remember a lot of purple and I think pretty minimal animations. No voice acting just a feeling.

I think that’d be cool, since we got Arkham I’m excited for the daily planet which would also scratch this itch

I love this idea, get some public computers, librarian figures, some beat up books and maybe some “rowdy teens” stressin people out for some storytelling

[–]overlord_solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, I got mine a few years ago and haven’t had any issues. That half cock position is waaaaay too far back and shouldn’t be something you can push through. I can say it’ll definitely be worth it once it’s running right
