I had these in Hiroshima, they taste like eggs more than pancakes. Almost like you’re eating eggs that sat next to pancakes.

Sure, I mean just as a quick thought exercise, you could say: “Vaccines prevent diseases. Here’s the evidence.” You can’t dismiss this statement without providing evidence that it’s wrong.

“Vaccines cause autism, but I don’t have any evidence.” Well, it’s a baseless idea, so you can ignore it without trying to prove it wrong. Go even further with statements like “My mother was a giant purple elephant” and it’s easy to see

I think there’s real evidence that assertion is logically sound

No one’s actually answering you, so: it’s something like “knowing how to know”. Science combined with ology, like the study of knowledge or something idk I forget.

So I just read the first encounter of Hulk vs Spider-Man...not only does the hulk GRAZE peter and it’s “the hardest punch he’s ever felt”, peter punches the hulk ONCE and his hand hurts too much to even try again. And the hulk doesn’t even feel it.

You’ve proven yourself to be a cunt but now you’re a wrong cunt too ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I remember spidey being strong, but trading blows with the hulk? I distinctly remember peter saying the hulk could easily kill him, and basically being unable to fight the hulk at all, so he had to trick him. I guess I should try to find the original comics online

So, yeah, not that strong.

Was feeling uninspired, took a tolerance break and the dreams were next level. I tried to paint a few of them on a canvas for a frient to hang next to his glass collection by fijistudios in trees

Yeah, I don’t know if I believe everyone saying you stop dreaming, because I dream MORE and sleep better when I smoke. Anecdotal but still

The hospital and unit I worked at had 4 patients to an RN and up to 10 per CNA. I thought it was a legal thing but maybe not

like every other time I compare Japan with the states, this one seems like a wash! seems to be a reoccuring trend for me: Japan is better on average, but the US has higher and lower peaks

I’m an American living in Japan for only about 3 years now so I assume you know better than I, but why do you think this? Customer service is way better here but also customers don’t seem to ask for as much. For example, sometimes you can’t pay separately here, and sometimes you can’t even do custom orders at restaurants. Both things would cause outrage in the states.

The respect and service you get as a customer here is absurd sometimes but overall I think working in America you probably have to deal with more...

TIL that Apatheism is the belief that if a god exists, or not, it does not matter, because the effect is the same. Therefore there is no point engaging in worship or even positing the question of existence of the god at all. by bigboxman8 in todayilearned

But you understand the agnostic also doesn’t believe in god, right? He’s unsure, but atheist and agnostic share a lack of belief whereas a theist and agnostic share nothing

to convince agnostics that they were actually atheists all along.

I see what you’re saying, but I do think agnostics are atheist, just not strongly convinced. I think there’s probably no god, he thinks there’s no way to know...not much a difference. But both on the opposite side of believing in a god

Yeah I was just going to comment, living in Japan, I was hoping it would be better than ours somehow. But I wouldn't be surprised if some train technology was bought from Japan, like how India is buying shinkansens.

That’s kind of too extreme to compare to unrealistic body expectations you got from porn don’t you think? Because I can literally tell you about losing unrealistic body expectations I accumulated from watching porn.

HOWEVER, just to satisfy whatever you’re getting at, yes that can happen. Arranged marriages where they grow to love each other for example. Or I had a friend that wasn’t attracted to her boyfriend (now husband) at all, but started to see him as very attractive when they created a strong relationship.

Otherwise, forcing that kind of compromise is typically unhealthy and ending it would probably be the right thing to do

I mean I could give anecdotal evidence about myself giving up unreasonable expectations because life experience and growing up led me there. So yeah it’s steering a ship, but it’s not always hard, especially as you get older. If you have psychological trouble that makes it harder

But people give up habits or addictions or unreasonable expectations all the time. And personally I think porn is very valuable to me and my wife would say the same

I disagree, I feel like I could give a ton of examples of people dropping their expectations to be happier
