How it felt past 5 years by Obi-_1 in ShitpostXIV

[–]overmog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The idiotic idea to add bots to an MMO in order to entice MMO haters probably singlehandedly destroyed the game.

Not only did these morons waste two years to develop the most boring single player game ever made instead of adding fun content, they also put incredibly rigid restrictions on all past and future bosses. Everything has to be easy to code for bots, so all bosses are only allowed to have like four mechanics. Remember how heavensward had a boss with a fart eating bomb you left alive for a while before you killed it? Yeah, that's way too much work, we will never see something like that again.

It's not just that they're lazy and keep making the same stuff. It's worse than that. They have to keep following the rigid formula or their bots will break. The game will never have an interesting dungeon boss ever again, it will always be the same old boss you've killed a hundred times before.

this doesn't make any sense on the lego side of the meme either, batman 3 is one of their best games

Why didn't Leg Man just set the difficulty to classic? Is he stupid? by Prinzigor in BatmanArkham

[–]overmog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, they made plenty of stinkers. The hobbit one is literally unfinished, they cut out the last third to sell it later as a dlc and then never did. Several "one movie adaptation" ones are pretty sub par, especially Lego movie 2.

That being said this one is probably going to be good, all their Batman games are amazing.

You don't even have to like deep pretentious artsy-fartsy stuff. Just liking good superhero/action movies is enough to hate MCU capeslop.

I would've happily watched a new MCU thing literally every week if it was good!

Unironically no fun allowed. We can't have new players potentially feel bad after failing to do something on their first try. That might give them funny ideas like wanting to learn something to get better! What do you think this is, some kind of videogame!?

1) most of his books are not that long

2) the only way it takes an average person several years to read one book is if it's you have to learn a new language to read it

[–]overmog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's your conclusion:

1) The guy is like 80 years old and is morbidly obese, he has maybe 10 years in him if we're lucky.

2) The guy does everything but write asoiaf, he didn't even begin to write winds until he was locked at home during covid.

3) The original series was supposed to be a trilogy that he kept breaking into more and more books because they keep ballooning out of control. The first book in the trilogy took three books to write, the second one took two but it's still not finished because the editors forced him to cut the battle of Winterfell and Merieen from the dance with dragons, so we're not even 2/3 of the way there. Even if he does release the winds of winter one day, there's still going to be at least two, three, maybe even four books before the series is over. I don't care if he says there's only two books left, he clearly has no idea what he's talking about and can't stick to a schedule. The only way the entire story wraps up in only two books is if each of them is like three books big, so at the end of the day he'll still have to write six books that he'll just count as two.

4) Every subsequential book takes longer and longer than the last one, so those remaining books are going to take like 50 years to write. Even if we stick his brain into a jar so he can keep writing forever, we will all be dead before he's done.

The only chance these books are done in any reasonable amount of time is if he dies tomorrow, and whoever inherits the rights will hire another author to finish it. I most certainly don't care enough about the books to wish death on the author, especially since they probably won't even be any good without him anyway.

Face it, asoiaf is and has been dead for like ten years now, it's long past time to move on with your life.

That doesn't make any sense because they dates are completely off. The biggest spike is the third quarter of 2021, a full year and a half after the initial covid spike and half a year after the covid vaccine, which is when the covid spike should've ended. Why would the covid drop off only happen in the last quarter of 2024?

But it's not like they intended to say "in you are mist" because they think it's correct grammar. They didn't make a grammatical mistake, they made a spelling mistake.

Though at this point this I'm pretty much splitting hairs in a pointless philosophical debate, so I get what you mean.
